Types of Breakfast:
American Breakfast,
Filipino Breakfast and
Continental Breakfast
INTRODUCTION
 Breakfast is the first meal of a day, most often
eaten in the early morning before undertaking
the day's work. There are many different types of
breakfast eaten all around the world. In different
countries, different breakfasts are consumed.
Here are some various types of breakfasts I have
chosen to write about;
AMERICAN BREAKFAST

 Breakfast that includes most or all of the following: two

eggs (fried or poached), sliced bacon or sausages, sliced
bread or toast with jam/jelly/butter, pancakes with syrup,
cornflakes or other cereal, coffee/tea, orange/grapefruit
juice. As far as the United States is concerned, a typical
American breakfast would comprise mainly of hot fuel
foods, which means they are foods high in carbohydrates,
vitamin and mineral content.
FILIPINO BREAKFAST
 Filipinos love breakfast with rice. The majority of the
dishes consist of the "silogs". For example, "Tapsilog" is
fried beef, fried rice, and fried egg sunny side up. The "tap"
is "tapa" meaning thin slice of fried beef. The "si" is
"sinangag" meaning fried rice. The "log" is "itlog" meaning
egg (fried). Combining the three words, becomes "tapsilog".
Another healthy and inexpensive pinoy breakfast dish is
the "tortang talong" or the egg omelettes.
CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST
 A hotel breakfast that may include sliced bread with
butter/jam/honey, cheese, meat, croissants, pastries, rolls,
fruit juice and various hot beverages. It is served commonly
in the continental Europe, North America, and elsewhere,
as opposed to the English breakfast served commonly in
the UK. A continental breakfast is breakfast that consists
of food such as bread, butter, jam, and a hot drink. There is
no cooked food.
