 Problem Statement

 The aim of this project is to make some suggestion of solving the

student’s problem on the privacy issues in dormitories at
University Utara Malaysia (UUM).

 Suggest ways to increase the privacy in dormitories.

 Student facing problem with privacy matter where they find it as

the main reason for their inconvenience staying in college dorm.

 It is necessary for student to have their own privacy so that they’ll

be more comfortable in their dorm room and free from any
distractions.
 Recommended Solution
1) Security Box.

 A small affordable locker box to keep their belonging such as

important documents, cash and jewellery.

 Ensures that things can be put in a box and lock it using

password or key.

 In small size able to fit into the student’s wardrobe and doesn’t
not consume too much space as well.
2) Screen/Room Divider.

-Students can set up a folding screen to create more

privacy by simply placing it in between.

-Comfortable for students to do their work in

specified area.

-It is flexible as students can remove it whenever in

the mood to socialize with roommate.
3) Noise-cancelling headphones

 Useful for student who wants to free themselves from

roommate’s noises.

 Help students to focus while studying.

 Student can make use of the noise cancelling headphones

during studying time without being worried of any
disturbance.

 Noise-cancelling headphones may use a seal to help block

noise.

 Also electronically cancel out ambient sounds for more

effective noise-blocking.
Solution : Thus, our group has decided to

between students and their roommate. This
is mainly because will be more helpful for
them to be free from roommate’s
conversation and dramas when we are
busy doing work.
