INTRODUCTIONOF SEXUAL
HARASSMENT
 Sexual harassment is any unwelcome sexual advance or
conduct on the job that creates an intimidating, hostile, or
offensive working environment.
 Any conduct of a sexual nature that makes on employees
uncomfortable has the potential to be sexual harassment.

Example of sexually harassing behavior include:


 Unwelcome touching.
 Staring or leering.
 Suggestive comments or jokes.
 Sexually explicit pictures or posters.

 Unwanted invitations to go out on dates.
 Requests for sex.
 Sexually explicit physical contact and Sexually
explicit emails or SMS text messages etc….
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:
The main objectives of this study are as follows:

1. To determine the level of awareness on sexual harassment


amongst member in the Hosadurga small and medium
industries.
2. To determine causes and effects of sexual harassment in the
work place.
3. To investigate how to avoid sexual harassment in work place.
4. To suggest ways to reduce sexual harassment at work place.
5. To find out the malignancy which has further deteriorated the
problem of sexual harassment of women at work place.
SCOPE OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT:
 The harasser can be the victim’s supervisors, a supervisor in
another area, a co-worker or a non employee.
 The victim does not have to be the person harassed but could
be any one affected by the offensive conduct.
 Unlawful sexual harassment may occur without economic
injury to or discharge or the victim.

INTERPRETATION:
In the above graph represented by the number of
respondent women employees sexually harassed and
sexual misconduct at work place. So 18.11% women’s
are not sexually harassed in the work place,23.89% of
women’s a little harassing of the sexual, 28.07% very
sexually harassing and then finally 29.93% full
extremely sexual harassing in the small scale industries
in Hosadurga.
CONCLUSION:
 Sexual harassment research is form of discrimination
that consist of harassment behavior Gender
harassment, unwanted sexual harassment attention,
sexual coercion. The sexual harassment behavior can
be either direct (targeted at an individual) or ambient.
The sexual harassment remains a persistent problem in
the work place at large.
