Course Number: ES 122/L

Course Name: Fundamentals of Environmental Science

Course Description: The course is meant to deliver scientific knowledge in


understanding the definition of environmental science including its concepts and
principles in line with the aspects of natural sciences, politics, culture, and
economics. This course also promotes an understanding of the interrelationship of
humans to the environment and vice versa.
COURSE INFORMATION
Course Outcome:
1. Acquire values and adopt a responsible lifestyle that is pro-environment.
2. Explain the emerging environmental issues through the basic concepts of chemistry,
biology, physics, and other scientific knowledge.
3. Critically evaluate the interactions of human beings to the environment and its
consequences in the future.

COURSE INFORMATION
THE GENERAL HOUSE RULES
1. Wear your ID at all times.
2. Avoid absenteeism.
3. Be on time and seat in your assigned seat.
4. Refrain from going out while the class is going on.
5. Put your cell phones in silent mode and whenever there
is a need to answer important calls, do it outside of the
class room.
Only a very serious reason will excuse you
from attending classes. A limited number of
situations and circumstances are considered
lawful reasons for a learner’s absence from
school, such as:

a. death in the immediate family;

b. serious illness (with medical certificate);

c. activity sanctioned by the school


(tournament, contest, seminars, and the like); or

d. force majeure (unexpected and disruptive


event, inevitable and unavoidable) or “Act of
God” e.g. natural calamity, flood, fire,
accident, and the like;
On EXCUSED ABSENCES and Missed
Activities

*Depending on the complexity of the activity/ies,


you will accomplish/take the missed/alternative
assessment/s within three school days after
reporting back to school.

*The student should approach his/her teacher to


ask for/inquire about the missed assessments
within three school days after reporting back to
school; otherwise, he/she forfeits the
considerations to be extended to him/her.

6. Participate actively.

7. Arrange the chairs before the class starts.

8. No asking of papers/ball pens from classmates.

9. No eating while the class is going on.

10. Show respect for the teacher, your classmates, and yourself.

11. Follow/observe deadlines. There will be deduction of points per day for late
submissions.

12. Before every examination schedule, oral recitation (30 terms, 5 enumeration)
and long quiz shall be conducted.
HOUSE RULES: REPORTING
1. Once the assigned reporter is absent or unable to present during his/her time
to report, I will automatically discuss the topic which will result to a score
equivalent to zero (0) for the reporter.

2. Before or during the reporting schedule, the reporter must submit a soft copy
of his/her presentation via email: villanueva_chelsy@umindanao.edu.ph

HOUSE RULES: EXAMINATION
1. No permit, no exam.

2. Cellphones and other kind of gadgets are not allowed.
