SUPPLEMENTED PAY BENEFITS:-
It is a type of fringe benefits that refers to extra benefits provided to employee
in addition to the normal compensation paid in the form of wage or salary. Also
known as ‘pay for time not worked’.

1. Unemployment Insurance:-All states have unemployment insurance or
compensation laws. They provide benefits only if a person is unable to
work through no fault of his or her own.
2. Vacations & Holidays:-These are essential to the well being of an
employee & eligibility for vacations varies by industry, local and
organization’s size. Both hourly and salaried workers can usually expect
to be paid for 10 holidays a year.
3. Sick Leave:-Paid sick days sometimes referred to as sick leave or paid sick
leave, where employees are compensated during periods when they are
unable to work because of illness or injury.
4. Parental leave:-It is important benefit and about half of the employees
are women and maximum will become pregnant during their work lives.
5. Severance Pay:- A one time payment is sometimes given to employees who are
being terminated. In addition, most managers expect employees to give them
one or two weeks notice if they plan to give them one or two weeks notice if
they plan to quit, so it seems appropriate to provide a few weeks severance pay
when dismissing an employee.
6.Supplemental unemployment benefits:- While not required by law, in some
industries unemployment compensation is augmented by Supplemental
Unemployment Benefits (SUBs),which are financed by the employers.

These Services are provided at low or no cost to the employee.

event catering services for employees. Others have coffee shops. Employee
services are more of a convenience than a true benefit. Busy corporate
offices, for example, might provide dry cleaning pickup services for
employees. Employers in remote locations might offer shuttle services to and
from work. The types of services depends upon each employer. Small business
owners can use employee services such as on-site childcare to make their
positions more attractive to potential employees.

Counseling
Counseling is advice which a therapist or other expert gives to someone about particular problem.
Every manager has a responsibility to counsel his subordinates. Counseling activities include attentive
listening by a supervisor to an employee’s problem.

identify and understand the blockage in acceptable performance. when the supervisor is unable to resolve
the conflict or a problem of an employee, then the employee is referred to an in-house specialist, who is
able to provide additional counseling skills. When more psychological problems arise, the employer may
referred employee to a private practitioner.
Financial counseling
On how to make a family budget and live within it to overcome existing indebtness problems and how to
maximize use of current income in developing a future estate.

Education subsidies
Educational provisions are appearing in more and more benefit plans. The
Federal government promotes education subsidies by permitting tuition aid
plans to be non taxable to employee and considering tax credits for those
paying College tuition for family members.
In past large organizations have provided tuition aid plans for employees who
wish to continue in a graduate program.
Traditionally this programs have ranged from the payment of some
percentage of the total tuition fees to a flat fee per year.

Child care as an employee benefit has recently started. But because of high cost
of transportation problems and competition from other more convenient childcare
centers it has poor employee participation.
The employees provide this programs very close to the Employees workplace and
provides 50 to 75% of operating cost then too many employees preferred child care
facilities close to their homes one of the most demanded services by the
employees as the number of both parents working is increasing.
Elderly care
Responsibility for the care of aging parents and other relatives is another fact of
life for increasing number of employees. With the increasing cost of Nursing Home
skill care, age dependence receiving home care. Many companies had begin to
assist Employees with this problem. The majority of caregivers are the women.
For this, they provide information on ways of coping with this problem and also
provides financial assistance for dependents.
Subsidize food services

 Many companies provide training facilities to the Employees. Some


organization now allows their employees to order food to take home evening
meal. Most food operations are non profit. Some firms provide food services
below cost and absorb this cost because they consider that well fed
employees are healthier and thus, able to work more effectively.
A common feature and smaller companies, officers and the service type of
business is free coffee soft drinks and snacks. Some have setup free coffee
and soft drinks stands and eliminated the traditional coffee breaks to
minimize its adverse effect.
For example, the normal scheduling of coffee breaks frequently occurs when
work efficiency cycle of the employee is at the highest peak and the break
destroys this cycle.

products. Some organizations on equipment that some employees find extremely useful. when

receiving for it, if sold to the second hand market.

 Physical awareness and fitness programs

Many organizations are now providing educational and training programs to help participants and
enhancing their understanding, to improve their physical and emotional health. In addition,
organizations provide facilities and even grant time off to participate in physical fitness activities.

Many organizations are attempting to reduce the number of transfer of their employees, but
it is still necessary to move employees one location to another. Moving is it traumatic
experience for family.
Thus, to ease the burden, employers not only pay the cost of moving the household goods and
the family, birthday also provide financial assistance installing the previous residence and
buying the new one.
For this, the companies use many different procedures. In some cases, they purchase the old
home in others, they provide effects p for any differences incurred in mortgage cost. Another
Procedure is providing the reimbursement to the employee the amount of reimbursement
depends on the length of residents at the previous location and cost of living differential
between the previous and you location.

Because of the high cost of the housing, some organizations are building homes,
condominiums and rental units for a selected groups of employee. rental cost of purchase
prices are normally below the existing market prices. employers use the service to attract
individuals who might otherwise be reluctant to join or remain with the organization.
