research area/topic that had been agreed between
students and supervisors in their research.

Module Requirements
• Students are required to achieve:
Format A (BUS 3946):
– an overall of at least 50% for the module
• AND at least 40% for Internship/IIM
• AND at least 40% for Project paper
Format B & C (PRJ60104 & PRJ60406):
– an overall of at least 50% for the module (project)
• There will be no extension for FYP submission
• Those who failed the module are required to
repeat the module. There is no re-sit for this

*Students are only expected to use the research
methods they have learned from Research Methods
module. Therefore, students can analyse data using
descriptive analysis (minimal requirement). We do not
make it compulsory for students to perform
hypothesis testing for this 4 credits module. 7

Submit FULL Project Paper hardcopy on
The FYP Process Submission Process
Students submit final project (by 16 Nov, 2PM on Thursday
of week 12):
Submit soft copy to TIMeS to generate similarity
report (plagiarism check) via Turnitin one day before
the official submission date.
Students are allowed to submit their work multiple
times BUT MUST USE SAME FILE NAME when
uploading the file to Turnitin.
It is advisable for students to upload the entire report
to Turnitin each time and not by separate chapters.
Drop 2 hard copies of the project into the assignment
drop box placed at Academic Services office or
submit that to the supervisor personally - TBC 13
Reminders:
Attach the following documents to the project before
submission:
1. Reference list
2. Questionnaire or list of secondary data, whichever applicable
3. SPSS /Eviews/Excel output and supporting documents for qualitative
research
4. Three (3) copies of Supervisor and Student Meeting Record (Appendix
B) & Supervisor Review Record (Appendix L) - signed*
5. Research Ethics Check-list (signed)
6. Full Turnitin similarity report

*Supervisors will not accept any project that is without three (3)
copies of signed Supervisor and Student Meeting Record (Appendix
B) and Appendix L. Projects without the these documents will be
considered as non-submission cases.

Important information
• Deadlines must be strictly adhered to as Turnitin @ TIMeS will not
allow submission after the deadline. You are required to upload
the soft copy of your project to Turnitin latest by 8.00AM on 22
Nov 2017. You will not be able to access Turnitin link after 8.00AM
on 22 Nov 2017. Please submit the hard copies of your project with
the full Turnitin report on 23 Nov 2017 by 2PM.
• Students are required to keep the following research related
documents until the official release of project result:
a)Soft copy of your research output
b)SPSS/Eviews/Excel/documents, supporting qualitative
research/tape-recorded interviews, etc.
c) Evidence of research responses/research data
d)Primary research: All the questionnaires (hard copy); data set
and the Google docs. spreadsheet (soft copy) for primary
research
e) Secondary research: full details of secondary data; all
raw/original data

Important information
f) All project papers must use the project cover page;
title page and statement of authorship.
g) No extensions will be granted for project paper
submissions.
 If the project paper is submitted late due to
circumstances beyond student’s control, student is
required to complete an Application for Late
Submission of Assessed Work Form (available at
the Academic Services Department). Please refer
to Taylor’s University Student Handbook/Degree
Programmes Guide for more details on late
submission.

Supervisor’s Role:
 Acts as an advisor whom students may discuss their
ideas and plans for research. As such, supervisor will
not extend to undertaking any part of students’
research.
 Helps students to clarify the topic, research objectives,
research questions and ethical issues arising from the
research plans
 Advises students on the process of a literature review
and referencing matters; research methodology; data
collection and data analysis methods.
 Provides feedback on students’ work and mark and 2nd
mark the project
