Overtaking - Rule 13 IRPCS

When is a vessel overtaking?


When it is approaching from an angle
22.5º
more than 22.5º abaft the beam of
another vessel
(ie in the arc of the stern light).

A planing sailing dinghy is overtaking a


motor cruiser.
