Explanation is text which tells processes relating to forming of natural, social, scientific and
Cultural phenomena. Explanation text is to say “why” and “how” of the forming of the
phenomena. .

 HOW DAY AND NIGHT HAPPEN

Today we’ll learn about day and night

When we see the sun (action verbs) shining in the sky it is day
and we dont it is night so the question is why is the sun in the sky
scene and sometimes and not at others. we see that the sun
seems to move across the sky (action verbs), starting in the east
in the morning. then moves toward the south at noon, and the
finally towards the west as the ends. hmmm... how does this
happen?
 HOW DAY AND NIGHT HAPPEN
General statement

The sun seems to rise in the morning, crosses

the sky during the day and sets at night.
However the sun does not actually move
around the earth. Earth's turning on its axis
makes it look as if the sun is moves

SQUENCED OF EXPLANATION
The earth makes a complete turn on its axis
for 24 hours. It is called as rotation. It causes
day and night. (cause and effect) The earth also moves aroun
d
the sun. (Simple Present tense) It takes 365 days or a year. Th
is
process is called revolution (Passive voice) The revolution
process causes the changes of the season. (Noun Phrase)
 It seems strange that as the earth get closer
to the sun during its orbit then the amount of
daylight that we got decreased (passive voice).
But that is the case. It is the tilt of the earth t
hat determine
the amount of daylight that we get and so the
length of time that for us the sun is above the
horizon. (Noun Phrase)
CLOSING

Actually the sun appears to move accross the sky ,

because the earth rotates on its axis (cause and effect
). Axis in straight line , passing through the north pol
e, the center of the earth and the south pole, it is tilte
d at an angle of 23.5 degrees. the movement of the e
arth on it’s own axis is known as rotation. Lets see wh
y we have days and nights.
