Five laws of library science
The five laws of library science is a theory
proposed by Padmashri Dr. Siyali Ramamrita
Ranganathan in 1931, detailing the principles of
operating a library system. Many libraries world
wide accept them as the foundations of their
philosophy.
 Books are for use
 Every reader his/her book
 Every book its reader
 Save the time of the reader
 Library is a growing organism

Overdue Charges
• Rs. 5.00 for per book per day will be charged, if
book is not returned after the due date.

Book Lost
“If the books are lost, then the borrower shall
replace the books of the same edition or latest
edition or pay double cost of the book after
getting permission from the librarian”
