•Is essentially a name, term,
design, symbol, or any
other feature that identifies
a seller’s product or services
distinctive of the others.
Features of branding

• Brand Name
• Brand mark
• Trade mark
• Trade Name
Brand Name
• Is that part of a brand that is verbally
mentioned
• It includes letter, words, and numbers
• A brand name is often a product’s
distinguishing characteristics
• Without the brand name, it is difficult to
identify the firm’s product.
Examples:

Mercedes- Benz, Shell,
Sony, Toyota.
Brand Mark
•Is not orally articulated
•It is not made up of
words but instead is
represented as symbols
or design
Examples:
Trademark
• Is legal designation indicating that the owner
has exclusive use of brand or part of a brand
that that others are prohibited by law from
using it.
• A trademark, trade mark, or trade-mark is a
recognizable sign, design, or expression which
identifies products or services of a particular
source from those of others, although
trademarks used to identify services are usually
called service marks.
