works related to women and
destitute children.

• Bapsi Sidhwa is a Parsi diaspora


writer and the genres discussed in
her novels are Post-colonialism,
Partition, and cultural Literature.

• Main objective is to highlight the suppressed
women in the name of religion.
• Aims to reveal child marriage and unwillingness
to accept imposed fate.
• Another main objective is to compare the lives of
mid 19th century widow women with the
present times in India.
Research Gap
• What is the current situation of 21st century widows
are they still suffering from their ruthless orthodox
tradition?
• This research aims to investigate the present
condition of widows how they are treated in the
context of India. Are they still facing their cruel social
norms?
