Saturnine- showing a brooding ill humor
Since they had a disagreement, she was in a saturnine mood all day.
Skulk- move stealthily
Kendra skulked past her sleeping mother.

We let the flood subside before leaving the evacuation center.

Lockwood goes up to the Heights and
delivers a note to Cathy from Nelly.
Cathy cannot send a response
because she has no paper. Heathcliff
has taken everything away from her
and Hareton has hidden some of her
books in his room.
After Cathy humiliates him for his illiteracy, Hareton
returns the books to her. When she continues to mock
him, he hits her and throws her books into the fire.
Hareton's face reminds Heathcliff of Catherine
𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗 32
Lockwood arrives at the Grange to
find that Nelly has moved up to the
Heights. Lockwood visits the Heights
and is immediately struck by the
changes in its appearance. The
gate, is not locked, doors and
windows are open and the chimney
is lighted.
Nelly tells Lockwood that she was transferred to the
Heights and that Heathcliff is dead. Cathy is now in
charge of the Grange.
Shortly after Lockwood left the Grange, Heathcliff calls
for Nelly to return to the
𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗 33
Cathy and Hareton grew closer.
Together they plant a garden, but dig up
Joseph's plants to do it.
They bury him next to Catherine. The town folk claim that
some have even seen him wandering about with
Catherine.
