DEFINITION

 Green Building
- is a practice of adopting measures that
promote resource management efficiency and
site sustainability while minimizing the negative
impact of buildings on human health and
environment.
COVERAGE AND APPLICATION

Minimum Total Gross Floor Area (TGFA) coverage

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

BUILDING ENVELOPE

1. Air Tightness and Moisture Protection

- reducing air filtration and exfiltration
- preventing outside air moisture infiltration

2. Window-to-Wall Ratio (WWR)

- Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) and WWR
- Windows without sunbreakers or overhangs
- Windows with sunbreaker
ENERGY EFFICIENCY

BUILDING ENVELOPE

3. Natural ventilation
-use of operable windows

4. Building envelope color

- High solar reflectance of building envelope

5. Roof insulation
- Reduction of heat transfer

The Visayas Island’s

First Green Building

 Features a roof topped with solar panels that will save $17,000 per year and
prevent 36 metric tons of carbon dioxide being pumped into the atmosphere.
 The building’s solar roof will provide enough electricity to power all of the air
conditioning units on the building’s entire seventh floor, and a rainwater
harvesting system placed on top of the building will provide water for the City
Hall’s toilets.
 It helped lower power consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions
and air pollution in the city
