SHOWN CHAMBERLAIN THAT HITLER COULD NOT BE TRUSTED.
• SO CHAMBERLAIN ANNOUNCED THAT BRITAIN WOULD
DEFEND POLAND IF GERMANY TO TAKE OVER.
• IN AUGUST 1939 THE WORLD WAS ASTONISHED WHEN THE
NAZY SOVIET PACT WAS ANNOUNCED.
-POLISH CALVARY ARE MOVILESED TO MEET THE
GERMAN TANKS AND BOMBERS.
-GERMAN WERE FAR TOO STRONG FOR THE
POLISH ARMY AND IT WAS QUICKLY DEFEATED.

series of small countries such as Czechoslovakia.

the USA had not even joined it.
