INTRODUCTION
 Smart Home is applied in order to provide comfort,
energy efficiency and better security.
 Home automation system using IoT is a way through
which one can explore and control home appliances or
devices with the help of internet connection.
 IoT based home automation is a way of making home
smart.
 IoT is opening lot of opportunities for a large number of
applications that promise to improve the quality of our
lives.
 Defining the Internet of Things as "simply the point in
time when more 'things or objects' were connected to the
Internet than people."

FEATURES OF ARDUINO UNO
 Microcontroller = ATmega328P – 8 bit AVR
family
 Operating Voltage = 5V
 Recommended Input Voltage = 7-12V
 Input Voltage Limits = 6-20V
 Analog Input Pins = 6 (A0 A5)
 Digital I/O Pin = 14 (Out of which 6 provide PWM
output)
 DC Current on I/O Pins = 40 mA
 DC Current on 3.3V Pin = 50 mA
 Flash Memory = 32 KB (0.5 KB is used for
Bootloader)
 SRAM = 2 KB
 EEPROM = 1 KB
 Frequency (Clock Speed) = 16 MHz
ESP8266 WI-FI MODULE
 It is self contained soc with integrated TCP/IP protocol
that can give any microcontroller access to your Wi-Fi
network .
 A Wi-Fi micro chip has 5 mm length.
 It is cheapest chip.
 This device is produced by Shanghai-based Chinese
manufacturer, Espressif Systems.
 ESP8266 Wi-Fi module is generally used to establish the
wireless communication between the devices.
FEATURES OF LM35
 Calibrated Directly in Celsius (Centigrade)
 Linear + 10-mV/°C Scale Factor
 0.5°C Ensured Accuracy (at 25°C)
 Rated for Full −55°C to 150°C Range
 Suitable for Remote Applications
 Operates from 4 V to 30 V
 Less than 60-µA Current Drain
 Low Self-Heating, 0.08°C in Still Air
 Non-Linearity Only ±¼°C Typical
 Low-Impedance Output, 0.1 Ω for 1-mA
Load

LIMIT SWITCH
 limit switch works like any other momentary
switch and provide both the normally open and
normally closed contacts.
 Limit switches differ in how the switch is
actuated – limit switches typically have a metal
lever on them. The metal lever acts like a spring
and protects the physical switch from repeated
impacts.
 This specific version can handle up to 5A at
250VAC and has solder tab terminations.
FEATURES OF LIMIT SWITCH

 Solder tabs
 Rated for 5A at
250VAC
 Metal spring lever
RELAY
 Relay is simple sensing device used in almost all electrical devices
to scene the fault it is usually connected with circuit breaker. A
simple electromagnetic relay consists of a coil of wire wrapped
around a soft iron core, an iron yoke which provides a
low reluctance path for magnetic flux, a movable iron armature, and
one or more sets of contacts (there are two in the relay pictured). The
armature is hinged to the yoke and mechanically linked to one or
more sets of moving contacts.
 It is held in place by a spring so that when the relay is de-energized
there is an air gap in the magnetic circuit. In this condition, one of
the two sets of contacts in the relay pictured is closed, and the other
set is open
WEB SERVER

 Web server is a program that uses HTTP to source the file that
from web pages to user .
 The process is an example of the client /server model.
 The primary function of a web server is to store, process and
deliver web pages to clients.
 The communication between client and server takes place using
the HTTP .
 Pages delivered are most frequently HTML documents which may
include images, style sheets and scripts in addition to the text
content.
INTERNET OF THINGS
 The Internet of things can be defined as connecting the
various types of objects like smart phones, personal
computer and Tablets to internet, which brings in very
newfangled type of communication between things and
people and also between things.
 IoT devices are a part of the larger concept of home
automation, which can include lighting, heating and air
conditioning, media and security systems.Long term
benefits could include energy savings by automatically
ensuring lights and electronics are turned off.
RESULT
ADVANTAGES
 Flexibility
 Manageability

 This system is a low cost design with time and energy

being saved .
 Smart home more efficient and secured.
APPLICATION

o In home : Lighting, Lawn Irrigation Systems, HVAC Regulation.

o In school: 3D printer, Scanning machine, Xerox machine.
o In industries: Machines controlled, Energy generators.
FUTURE SCOPE
• If you are working in particular unit if any electrical apparatus is
ON and there is no any human being then this availability is
detected by sensor and send this message through GSM unit to
user mobile.

• Hand gesture based electronic device control by using raspberry

pi.
CONCLUSION
 In this project present the new circuitry for controlling
home electrical devices by using android smart phone at
reasonable cost. The android as well as using HTML
code for system controlling and provide security to
home. The smart phone communicates with the wifi
module. This system flexible for new devices and
appliances .IOT based home automation system will
make more comfort to people’s life.
