SUSTAINABILITY IN CONSTRUCTION

Sustainable construction aims to meet present day

BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT

“Program Perumahan Rakyat” (PPR) is located at Permas Jaya,

Johor Bahru

Area of 8.02 hectare.

The construction consists of new added building which is 400

units of flat, parking lots and other utilities

Started in 22/12/2017 by Gerbang Nusajaya Sdn Bhd and will

end in 21/4/202.

Gantt Chart

Gantt charts are a project planning tool that used in this project
construction to represent the timing of tasks required to complete a
project. This chart shows a list of activities with the start, duration, and
finish of each activity shown as a bar plotted to a time scale. Bar charts
are an effective means of scheduling and recording progress on the
construction projects.
Physical S-Curve

This project performance control achieved by monitoring the actual

physical progress with the planned progress followed the actual
spending. While, a cost project is defined as a cumulative time-phased
budget that will be used to measure and monitor the current and
future project cost performance. Then, It is graphically represented in
the form of S-curve and it is an important cost monitoring tool.
CONCLUSION

Construction is one of the largest users of environmental resources and

one of the largest polluters of manmade and natural environments.
Sustainable approach in construction is an improvement from
conventional construction. It is a better way in construction. The
concept of sustainable is to balance between conserving the
environment without disturbed the process of construction.
