User Connect Licensing(UCL)

 Cisco User Connect Licensing (UCL) provides per-user based licensing for
individual Cisco Unified Communications applications, including the
applications server software, user licensing, and a soft client.
 User Connect Licensing is available in Essential, Basic, Enhanced, and
Enhanced Plus versions.

 With a valid Software Support contract, Cisco Unified Communications

software major version upgrades are available for no additional charge
through the Product Upgrade Tool.
 Before upgrading from 8.x or earlier, use Collaboration Upgrade Scanner to
plan the licensing requirements and raise a case with the licensing team.
UCL Upgrade Without SWSS

 Before upgrading from 8.x or earlier, use Collaboration Upgrade Scanner to

plan the licensing requirements and raise a case with the licensing team.
 For customers with no active SWSS contracts, major version upgrades must
be ordered with SWSS:
• Use the following top level part number: UCL-UCM-UPG-K9
• Select user license upgrade options:

1. Start with the correct top level sku: R-UCL-UCM-LIC-K9

2. After selecting edit options, select the appropriate
license(Enhanced Plus, Enhanced, Basic or Essential). Then
select the quantity of licenses.

3. On the left hand side select software version. Then select the
desired version of CUCM

4. Finally, select any additional options that may be required.
Feature License Upgrade
1. Start with the correct top level sku: UCL-UCM-UPG-K9

2. Under Feature Upgrade Options; Select the version of CUCM
and the License type that you would like to upgrade to.

you will be upgrading from – 8.x or earlier or 9.x and later.
