Referencing Style
Pre-test
1. Despite the importance to recognize the physiological
process of a disease, nurses are obliged to understand one’s
illness experience in providing holistic care.
2. Although the terms are often used interchangeably, there is
a distinct difference between disease and illness.
3. Illness, on the other hand, is the human experience of
symptoms and suffering, and refers to how the disease is
perceived, lived with, and responded to by individuals, their
families, and their caregivers.
4. Disease refers to the pathophysiology of the condition, such
as an alteration in structure and function.

Vancouver Styles
• In the bibliography the reference is sorted in
numbering order, such as
(1) Butler SW (author/s). Secrets from the Black Bag (title). London
(place published) : The Royal College of General Practitioners
(publisher); 2005 (year published).
• In text, usually uses superscripted number, like
• Depression is one mental alteration that may expressed with
excessive fatigue, prolonged condolence, uninterested, guilty, and
losing appetite (1).

Assignment and Trials
• Make two paragraphs (free topics) in a word document:
• The first paragraph uses Harvard referencing style,
• while the second paragraph uses Vancouver style
• Choose either intro, body or closing paragraph
• Submit your doc to your class coordinator
• Your class coordinator should send the whole
document in a .zip file to setho.h@fkp.unair.ac.id
• Failure to submit will cost you a hard and soft skill
marking.
Thank you
