ABDUL MUJIB MOHD ALI
Head Of Security
Malaysia Airlines

Joined Malaysia Airlines in 2006 and responsible for ensuring that the security
measures at the area of responsibilities are performed according to the required
standards. Primarily, the area pertains to the aircraft security prior departure and
during ground time, cargo security operations and the daily situational reporting to
the management.
In 2013, assumed the position of Head of Security till today.
Represent MH at the Associations of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) Cargo Security
Working Group since 2004 & AAPA Security Steering Group member since 2010;
In 2008-2012 participated in IATA sponsored Malaysia Secure Freight Program
Working Group (alternate in SFP Steering Group).
Currently an observer member of IATA Security Group IATA SEG)
CAPTAIN MOHAMMED AZIZ

Captain Mohammed Aziz is advisor to the chairman of Middle East Airlines. He is an


airline pilot and a safety and security expert who works with ICAO as an AVSEC
instructor and auditor. He is also the chairman of the IATA IOSA Oversight Committee
and of the AACO AVSEC Working Group.

His aviation experience started in 1972, throughout that period he has been and still is
an active airline pilot. He has also held many managerial positions including Head of
Safety and Head of Operations. He has also been the chairman of the IATA Human
Factors Working Group, a member of the IATA Safety Committee and of the GAIN
Steering Committee.
Captain Aziz has a Ph.D. from the University of Alexandria in Egypt, an MBA in
Aerospace Management from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Toulouse and
MA from the Beirut Arab University.
Monty Rahman
Emergency Planning Controller – Contingency Response Planning

Monty is a seasoned Emergency Management & Crisis Planning professional


currently managing the Corporate Departmental Response plans for Emirates
Airlines. In addition, he also looks after the functionality of the Incident
Command Centre, recommending changes and improvements to the airline’s
Emergency response processes, promoting the usage of technology in
handling crisis, corporate training and conducting exercises.

Monty has previous experience in Business Continuity & Emergency


Management with the Government of Ontario (Canada), disaster response
deployments for the Red Cross and years of experience in running his own
technology company.
May Al Mansoori
Humanitarian Response Specialist – Contingency Response Planning

May Al Mansoori began her career with Emirates NBD within Project Management
before joining the Emirates Contingency Response Planning team in 2012 as a
Humanitarian Response Specialist. May has developed and delivered training programs
in Crisis Management and Humanitarian Response post aviation accident within
Emirates and has also developed a module delivered in Arabic to Dubai Police. She
recently coordinated several projects that support the development of the crisis
response team by incorporating humanitarian aspects of Aircraft accident, disruption
management, medical incidents and medical offloads into a core program to maximise
resource efficiencies. May currently is the point of contact with consulates, hospitals and
police for the Medical Incident Emergency Response Plan.

May has a Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling and Advising from the Higher College of
Technologies – Education and Counselling campus.
Michelle Hargreaves
Humanitarian Response Specialist – Contingency Response Planning

Michelle has worked in the aviation industry for over 10 years. She started her career in
aviation as part of the Airside Operations team before moving into the Terminal
Operations team at Edinburgh Airport. As part of the Crisis Management Team, she was
heavily involved in the operational response and recovery of incidents such as the liquid
bomb threat and Glasgow Airport terror attacks amongst others. Michelle was certified as
a First Responder and Threat Assessor.

Michelle joined Emirates in 2011 working in recruitment before moving to the


Contingency Response Planning team as a Humanitarian Response
Specialist. Michelle specialises in emergency response planning and preparedness for
Dubai International Airport (Terminal 3) and the development and delivery of
Humanitarian accident response training.
Sophy Kurian
Humanitarian Response Specialist – Contingency Response Planning

Sophy specialises in crisis response planning and management. She joined the Emirates Group in
2007 and has since handled roles in employee assistance and crisis response planning and
training. As part of her current responsibility in Emirates, she ensures the continual review and
preparedness of Emirates Corporate Family Assistance Procedures in the context of lessons learnt
from affected air carriers, legislation and best practice. Sophy also develops and delivers crisis
response training to Emirates Group employees.

Sophy has been involved in emergency response management in multiple capacities including first
responder; volunteer coordinator; logistics; and has deployed during large natural disasters
including the 2004 Asian Tsunami as well as an aviation incident in Dubai in January 2014. She has
been extensively involved in capacity-building of civil society organizations in Mumbai, specifically
in the area of organizational development and Human Rights Education.

Having earned her Master’s degree in Humanitarian Sciences and Post-graduate qualifications in
HR, Sophy is also a qualified Mental Health Counsellor and offers this service on voluntary basis.
Alastair Morrison

Alastair Morrison is an International businessman who has a wide experience of emerging


markets particularly in the Security, Aviation, Life Support and Defence fields.

He was a commissioned Officer in the Scots Guards and the Special Air Service (SAS) for 20
years. He was awarded the Military Cross during the war in Dhofar, Oman and was
decorated for his part in the successful hostage rescue operation of German passengers and
crew held on board a Lufthansa aircraft at Mogadishu, Somalia in 1977.

Alastair is experienced in acquisitions, funding and onward sales of specialist support service
companies; entry to and development of emerging markets; Government outsourcing;
Defence related research and Development. He is authorised to provide investment and
financial advisory services by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Dr. Edma Naddaf

Dr. Edma Naddaf joined Emirates Airlines since its inception in late 1985/ 1986.

She has set up the first Aviation Psychology consultancy in the UAE and the region.

She opened the “first psychometric lab in the UAE for airlines in the region in 1986”.
Throughout her career she utilized a wide battery of psychometric tests with up to 150
nationalities.

She set-up “the first Employee Assistance Center”, which has been the home of Employee
Assistance Program (EAP) 2001.

In 2004, Dr. Naddaf established her own practice & continued providing services to many
airlines; to name a few:

Joss D’silva
Vice President – Security Planning and Risk Management

Joss D'silva Vice President ( AVSEC PM ICAO) - Security Planning and Risk Management.

Joss started his Career in the Military and Security operations before joining the Aviation Industry.
He has over 13 years in the field of Aviation Security and Loss Prevention while working with the
Emirates Group.

At present his job responsibilities also entail Security planning for Airport Projects,Security
enhancements on board Aircraft as well as off Airport support Facilities.
Karim Labib
Training Superintendent (Security)

Karim joined the Emirates Group in 2006 and is currently in charge of the security training and
compliance of all ground staff in Dubai, outstation and third party clients. He is a certified ICAO
AVSEC Professional manager, ICAO Instructor, and ICAO National Inspector. Having earned his
Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology, and completed his MBA in Human Resource
Management and LLM in International Human Rights Law

As an academic, he is currently also teaching the Diploma in Aviation Security Management


offered by the Edith Cowan University of Western Australia. His expertise lies in Aviation Security
legal instruments, Risk Assessment, Crisis Management and Security Management systems.

Karim has developed and delivered numerous security training packages and ICAO training
courses to Emirates Group employees and third party clients around the globe.
