TRACE ME!
Materials: Folder, plastic cover, Ruler, Marker.

Directions:
1. Draw a parallel line using the ruler and label it as line m and n
2. Draw a transversal line and label the angles, as < 1 to <8
3. Get the plastic cover and trace <1 using the marker, then slide it to <5, tell what have you
observed
4. Turn it over and compare it to <8, tell what have you observed.
5. Get another plastic cover and trace <3, then turn it over and compare it to <6, write what have
you observed
6. Turn it over 2nd plastic cover and slide it to <7 and compare it to <6, what have you found out.
7. Take the 1st plastic cover and the 2 nd plastic cover, try to over lap its vertex facing in opposite
opening. Tell what have you noticed.
TERMINOLOGY
Definition of Terms
1. Alternate interior angles = are two non-adjacent interior angle on the opposite sides of the
transversal ( <3 , <6 and <4, <5).

2. Alternate exterior angles = are two non-adjacent exterior angle on the opposite sides of the
transversal ( <1 , <8 and <2, <7).

3. Corresponding angles = are two non-adjacent angle which one is exterior and the other is
interior on the same side of the transversal (<1,<5, <3, <7, <2,
<6 and <4, <8).

4. Same side interior angles = are two adjacent angle interior angle on the same side of the
transversal and their sum is equal to 1800 or supplementary
(<3,<5 and <4,<6).
Now I know the
angles pair that
formed by parallel line
cut by a transversal
line, as well its
relationship…. But
how can I apply that

Don’t waste your

time Batman…
you will never
solve my riddle
LET’ S PRACTICE

m< a = 1100
Since <a and <b are alternate
m<b
exterior angle then , <a and <b
are congruent therefore
m< b = 1100
Since <x and <a are corresponding
angle then, <x and <a are congruent
<x =570 therefore <a = 570
<b
<a
<a and <b are same side interior angle
then, they are supplementary , thus,
<a + <b = 1800
570 + <b = 1800
<b = 1800 - 570
<b = 1230
(3x + 20)0 and 2x0are same side
interior angle then, they are
supplementary , thus,
(3x + 20)0 +2x0 = 1800
(3x + 20)0
5x + 200= 1800
5x = 1800 - 200
2x0
5x = 1600
5𝑥 1600
=
5 5
Solve for x x = 320
Your running out
of time Batman…
you will never
learn to break the
riddle…

Is that what
you think?...
See what
Is t I
have learned,
Riddler.
