Psychiatry Unit utilizes current standards of practice to
provide care in accordance with North Carolina Nurse Practice Act, and Patient care is monitored by ongoing Performance Improvement activities. History In 1969 a 23 bed psychiatric unit was opened on the main campus of the the hospital grounds.
Since 1969 we have had the psychiatric unit, and now
have the psych unit in the emergency room that holds 7 psych patients, unit a psych consult. Along with a licensed unit that holds up to 33 beds. Inpatient While on 3rd east patient care interventions are supported by ancillary services in a collaborative manner and are requested/coordinated according to hospital policy.
Ancillary services specific to psychiatry are social work
and recreational therapy.
Nursing care is delivered by a team nursing model.
