IGUALDAD DE FUNCIONES
Definición:
Sean 𝑓 y 𝑔 dos funciones reales de variable real con dominios 𝐷𝑓 y
𝐷𝑔 respectivamente y con reglas de correspondencias 𝑓 𝑥 y 𝑔 𝑥
respectivamente, entonces:
1 𝐷𝑓 = 𝐷𝑔
Ejemplo:
9 − 𝑥2
Las funciones 𝑓 𝑥 = − y 𝑔 𝑥 = 𝑥 − 3 no son iguales,
𝑥+3
pues no se satisface la primera condición: 𝐷𝑓 = ℝ − −3 ≠ ℝ=𝐷𝑔

OPERACIONES CON FUNCIONES
Sustracción de funciones:
1 𝐷𝑓−𝑔 = 𝐷𝑓 ∩ 𝐷𝑔
2 𝑓 − 𝑔 𝑥 = 𝑓 𝑥 − 𝑔 𝑥 ; ∀𝑥 ∈ 𝐷𝑓 ∩ 𝐷𝑔
Multiplicación de funciones:
1 𝐷𝑓.𝑔 = 𝐷𝑓 ∩ 𝐷𝑔
2 𝑓. 𝑔 𝑥 = 𝑓 𝑥 . 𝑔 𝑥 ; ∀𝑥 ∈ 𝐷𝑓 ∩ 𝐷𝑔
División de funciones:
1 𝐷𝑓/𝑔 = 𝐷𝑓 ∩ 𝐷𝑔 − {𝑥 ∈ 𝐷𝑔 /𝑔(𝑥) = 0}

Ejemplo 1.
Dadas las funciones: f x = log 3 (𝑥 − 3) y 𝑔 𝑥 = 𝑥 2 − 25
, halle el dominio y regla de correspondencia de:
𝑓 + 𝑔; 𝑓 − 𝑔; 𝑓. 𝑔; 𝑓/𝑔
Solución:
Hallando el DOMINIO de: 𝑓 + 𝑔; 𝑓 − 𝑔; 𝑓. 𝑔
Si. 𝑓 𝑥 = log 3 (𝑥 − 3) entonces 𝑥 − 3 > 0 → x>3
Luego: 𝐷𝑓 = 3; +∞
Luego: 𝐷𝑔 = −∞; −5 ∪ 5; +∞
Finalmente 𝐷 = 𝐷𝑓 ∩ 𝐷𝑔 = 5; +∞

Ejemplo 1.
Dadas las funciones: f x = log 3 (𝑥 − 3) y 𝑔 𝑥 = 𝑥 2 − 25
, halle el dominio y regla de correspondencia de:

Solución:
Hallando la Regla de correspondencia de: f g ; f g; f .g
.𝑓 + 𝑔 𝑥 = 𝑓 𝑥 + 𝑔 𝑥 = log 3 (𝑥 − 3) + 𝑥 2 − 25
.𝑓 − 𝑔 𝑥 = 𝑓 𝑥 − 𝑔 𝑥 = log 3 𝑥 − 3 − 𝑥 2 − 25
.𝑓. 𝑔 𝑥 = 𝑓 𝑥 . 𝑔 𝑥 = log 3 𝑥 − 3 − 𝑥 2 − 25
𝐶𝑜𝑛 𝑥 ∈ 5; +∞

Ejemplo 2.
Si 𝑓 = 1; 2 ; 3; 4 ; 2; 5 ; (4; 1)
𝑔= 3; −1 ; 2; 1 ; 1; 0 ; (0; 2) y Hallar:𝑓 + 𝑔; 𝑓 − 𝑔; 𝑓. 𝑔; 𝑓/𝑔
Solución:
Primero determinar: Dom(f) Dom(g), para ver si es posible determinar aquellas
operaciones.
Dom(f) = {1; 3; 2; 4}, Dom(g) = {3; 2; 1; 0}
Dom(f) Dom(g) = {1; 2; 3} , luego:
i) ADICIÓN: “f+g”
f + g = 1; 2 + 0 ; 2; 5 + 1 ; (3; 4 − 1)
Para:
𝑥 = 1 → 𝑓 + 𝑔 1 = 𝑓 1 + 𝑔 1 = 2 + 0 = 2 → 1; 2 ∈ 𝑓 + 𝑔
𝑥 = 1 → 𝑓 + 𝑔 2 = 𝑓 2 + 𝑔 2 = 5 + 1 = 6 → 2; 6 ∈ 𝑓 + 𝑔
𝑥 = 3 → 𝑓 + 𝑔 3 = 𝑓 3 + 𝑔 3 = 4 − 1 = 3 → 3; 3 ∈ 𝑓 + 𝑔
f+g= 1; 2 ; 2; 6 ; (3; 3)
