• Introduction
Malaysia is one of the most multicultural nations in southeast Asia.
Malaysia multicultural society is made up by different types of ethnic
groups includes Malays, Chinese, Indian and the Native. In fact, different
ethnic groups have their own history, culture, belief system, value and
language, there is thus unity among different ethnics is important in
Malaysia.

Malaysia education system especially in art education is one of the way


we can celebrate the uniqueness of multicultural life.

However , in Malaysia art education, Chinese art especially painting is


rarely been thought in school . Chinese art in Malaysia education system
is usually been taught in non-formal occasion such as Chinese New Year
celebration .

A few core subjects have been taught in classroom that comprise the
element of understanding different races, culture and religion in Malaysia,
but it is merely a conceptual knowledge which has minimal impact on
children (Mustapha, 2009).
Research Problem

• This research will engage on issue of Inculcate The


Importance of Chinese Painting Towards Secondary
School Students.

• Therefore , this research will look on how the Chinese


painting impact on students learning process in class
by teaching Chinese painting will make them more
focus in class or not.

• Plus ,is it the Chinese painting can make they more


creative and more feeling tolerance towards each
other races in Malaysia.
Research Objectives

There are three (3) research objectives in this research :

• To determine the type of Chinese Painting that give impact


of learning among Secondary School Students.

• To investigate the revelation of Chinese painting on visual


art subject in school.

• To suggest way of enhance the knowledge of Chinese art


and painting among secondary students.
Research Questions

• What is the type of Chinese painting that give


impact of learning among Secondary School
Students.

• How to investigate the the revelation of Chinese


painting on visual art subject in school.

• How to suggest way of enhance the knowledge of


Chinese art and painting among secondary
students.
Literature Review (Include
Citations)
• Art Education : With regard to definitions of community-based art
education, several concepts come to mind. One might initially
envision organized community art programs to improve art skills, or
alternatively, outreach programs to empower special groups of
people. With more thought, we might consider programs that
promote contextual learning about local art and culture
(Kincheloe, et al., 2000; Neperud, 1995).

• Chinese Art : Chinese painting covers a wide variety of forms of


painting. These forms of painting have some common features,
including colour and texture (Jiang et al., 2006; Sheng and Jiang,
2014).

• Multiculturalism : Banks et al. (2001) emphasized that social skills


are important for students from different ethnics and cultural
background to interact effectively.
Theories

• CBAE (Cultural Based Art Education) Chalmers describes how art


education programs promote cross-cultural understanding,
recognize racial and cultural diversity, enhance self-esteem in
students’ cultural heritage, and address issues of ethnocentrism,
stereotyping, discrimination, and racism.

• Bandura's Theory : Observation : This can be apply in art


classroom in art criticism session. Student needed to observe and
artwork before made a judgement. This is one of behaviourist and
cognitive learning theories because it encompasses attention,
memory, and motivation.
• Research Methodology.
 Qualitative Method :
 Action Research
Action research is used due to it’s teacher-initiated, school-based
research used to improve the practitioner’s practice by doing or
changing something.

Sampling and Population.


Simple Random Sample

A subset of a school X in Shah Alam in which each member of the subset has an
equal probability of being chosen.
A simple random sample is meant to be an unbiased representation.

Target population (N) : is in Shah Alam school district .


The sample (n): will covers with secondary school students in Shah Alam.
