PROBLEM STATEMENT

 The most important requirement and need of proper operation of

power system is maintenance of the system security. If any
contingency occurs in power system it is necessary to find for
reliable operation of power system.

LITERACTURE REVIEW
1) DEVELOPMENT OF SEARCH ALGORITHM
FORCONTINGENCY CASE IDENTIFICATION.
Pacis, Michael C. , School of EECE, Mapua Institute of
Technology Manila, Philippines
 Every power system grid in any nation experiences outage in its
transmission line, distribution lines, substations, generators and
transformers, either a single element or combination of the
elements at the same time which affects the delivery of power to the
consumers. Statistical computation is used to determine the cases of
the combination of outages that occurred at the same time.

 This paper presents the development of a search algorithm for
contingency case identification which helps the operator to
decide on what should be done to the system and return to its
normal operation when outages occurred.

CONTINGENCY
A contingency is the loss or failure of small part of the
power system (e.g. a transmission line), or the loss/failure of small
part of individual equipment such as a generator or transformer.
This is also called an unplanned outage.

 Contingency can consist of several action or elements.

 Simple example: outage of single transmission line.
 Complex: outage of several lines, a number of generators, and
the closer of normally open transmission.

METHODOLOGY :
Generation of load flow cases due to
outage of element or elements of the
IEEE bus 6 power system for database

Measurement of the abnormal operation

load flow of the power system

Comparison of the measured data to the

database values using square of error

2) System Impact Analysis of Renewable Distributed
Generation on an Existing Radial Distribution Network
Akash T. Davda, Member, IEEE, Bhupendra. R. Parekh

 This paper analyzes the impact of Renewable Distributed

Generation on a 4.02 MVA Radial Distribution Network of a
particular area of Gujarat state, India.
 This paper present for determining appropriate locations for
integration of Renewable Distributed Generators the Distribution
Network with the objective of improving voltage profile and
reduction in losses.

 After the integration of Renewable Distributed Generation in the
Network as per the methodology developed, the simulation
results reveal that the minimum voltage in the Network is within
the permissible regulatory limits and significant loss reduction is
achieved. Also an advantage is increased Network reserve
capacity to cater additional load with the same existing Network.
