CALCULUS AB

REVIEW
(COUNTDOWN ROUND)

ARE YOU READY FOR THE AP EXAM?

TCL

Ms. Underwood’s room

After school
SOME GENERAL THINGS BEFORE WE START:
 This “competition” is given in order to review for the
AP Calculus exam in May.
 As usual, there will be a question projected on the
board. I’ll read the question once. When you’re
done, raise your hand (you can raise your hand
before I’m finished reading. If the answer is short,
I’ll call your name and you’ll tell me your answer. If
it’s longer, I’ll come to your desk.
 As this is an AP-style practice, I’ll only tell you if a
question is right or wrong - I will not give you hints.
 You also only have one chance to give me the answer
per question. You gain points if it’s right, and you
lose points if it’s wrong.
SOME MORE THINGS…
 Even if a person is done, continue working. If the
person is wrong, you may have a chance to answer,
even if you didn’t finish first. I also want everyone
to know how to do each problem. If you don’t know
how to do a problem, we MUST go over it together.
After all, this is a cumulative review.
 Questions marked with a star means that you may
use a calculator to answer a question.
 More stuff if we get to them later.

 Lastly, have fun! 

QUESTION #10: WAGER TIME
 This question’s point amount will be determined by
you.
 On the post-it note placed on your desk, write your
name and how many points you want to wager. You
could bet zero, but it may not help your score if you
get it right.
 You may only wager the amount of points you
already have. Getting the question correct will give
you that amount of points, whereas getting it wrong,
ya know. You could effectively double your score or
drop to zero.
 All “wager time” questions will be free-response.
QUESTION #10: WAGER TIME

 If you have a negative number of points, you

don’t need to wager. Getting the question
correct will bring your points up to zero.
Getting the question wrong will have no
effect on your score.
 If you have zero points, you also don’t need to
wager. Getting the question correct or
incorrect will have no effect on your score.
However, still do the question. I need to
make sure you know how to do it.
QUESTION #10: WAGER TIME

 Ifyou are done before the timer, double

check your work. You always should. It

 Get ready, and good luck! The question will
start when I pick up your post-it note and go
to the next slide.
QUESTION #10: WAGER TIME – 3 MINUTES
 You may answer either question for credit. Getting
both questions will give you ten extra points.
