Academic Rules & Regulations
• Each student is required to attend minimum 75%of the scheduled
Lectures/ Practical’s to be eligible to appear in the examination of a
subject. If a candidate fails to meet the requirements he/she will be
detained and debarred from appearing in the University
examination of the subject.
• A maximum of 10% of the lectures held can be condoned in
subject owing to serious illness, natural calamity and participation
in any games / sports or for any other good and sufficient reason
depending upon the facts from case to case basis. Medical leave
along with medical certificate should be submitted within 10 days
to the respective HOD after availing the leave.
 Internal/Sessional marks are awarded on the basis of continuous
evaluation of the students through Class Tests, Quizzes, Seminars,
Home Assignments and Class Work.
Academic Rules & Regulations
 A student will have to pass separately in Internal session and
External components of a subject (Theory and Practical by securing
a minimum of 40% marks in each component.)

 There shall be 100 marks per year for General Fitness which shall
include marks for co-curricular activities and the conduct of the
students etc. as per University Guidelines.

 Classes are must for a minimum of 90 days in each semester. Hence,


classes may be arranged, if required on Saturdays or other holidays to
make up for shortfall.
Discipline & Code of Conduct
 The student is required not to pass judgment either in public or
during private conversation without ascertaining facts from
authentic sources, and will have to be courteous and polite with
faculty, staff and college at all times.
 The examination system at SVGOI is as strict as it should be. If a
student indulges in any malpractice, he/she shall be risking the
studentship. The authorities may not administer warning, accept
excuse or give opportunity to explain but may ward punishment.
 Smoking, Drinking and Administering Drugs are not allowed on
the Campus. Violation of these rules will be deal with strictly and
even may lead to expulsion from the institution.
 All students are required to follow the prescribed dress code. The
students should dress up decently and in a dignified manner.
Discipline & Code of Conduct
 Any changes in curriculum, fee structure, procedures and
processes which may have to be incorporated from time to time by
the university/institution will be applicable to all students.
 Only limited use of the mobile on campus/hostel is allowed. Any
violation related to mobile misuse in class/campus/hostel will
invite punishment.
 Any student found violating the hostel rules or involved in any
activity amounting to indiscipline on campus/hostel will not be
allowed to avail the hostel facility in future.
 If as a result of demonstration / strike / mischief, any property
/equipment in the campus is damaged and the loss is caused to the
institute , the same would be recovered either directly from the
identified person(s),wherever possible, or collectively from the
group of students who would be found responsible for this.
Discipline & Code of Conduct
 Students / class indulging in defacing of furniture, equipment or
building will be required to bear the cost of the restoration of the
various items into the original condition. The cost of breakage
done in the laboratories will also have to be borne by the student.

 While undergoing practical training (outside the campus), the


students shall abide by the rules of the organization in which they
are taking training and shall obey the orders and disciplinary
control of the organization.

 It is the responsibility of the student/parents to inform the institute


in case of change of their Address / Phone Number(s) Mobile
Number(s).
Departmental Activities
 At Least Two industrial visits per semester
 At least Three Expert Lecture will be conducted for
Department.
 One workshop will be conducted for Department
Evaluation Process
 For Theory Internals(40 Marks)
1. 24 Marks to be assessed on the basis of Sessional
Examinations (Avg. of Two MST’s).
2. 10 Marks for Multiple choice questions (at least two or at
most as per subject Teacher ) on the laid down criteria.
3. 06 Marks to be Assignment(Avg of Assignments) on the
basis of Teacher's Assessment.

 For Practical's Internals(60 Marks)
1. 20 marks for Daily Performance
2. 10 marks for Viva –Voca
3. 10 marks for Execution of Experiment
4. 10 marks for Lab Project
5. 10 marks for Lab quiz

 Note for 30 marks half of 60 marks will be considered.
