an SK Official are the following:
• Able to read and write in Filipino, English or other
local dialect commonly used I the barangay to
which he is to be elected or appointed; and

• Have not been convicted by final judgment of


any crime involving, moral turpitude.

justice, honesty, modesty or good morals.

Local Youth Development Office
LYDO is established in every province, city and
municipality, under the Office of the Local Chief
Executive (LCE), the Office of Planning and
Development, the Office of Social Welfare, or
under/in any other office deemed appropriate by
the LGU.
Local Youth Development
Council
The LYDC is convened in every province, city and
municipality and is known as Provincial Youth
Development Council (PYDC), City Youth
Development Council (CYDC) and Municipal
Youth Development Council (MYDC).
SK will coordinate with the LYDO
in the following activities:
1. In the registration and verification of youth
and youth-serving organizations;
2. In SK’s participation to the mandatory and
continuing training programs; and
3. In convening the Local Youth Development
Councils.
SK will coordinate with the LYDC
in the following activities:
1. Finalizing the LYDP, and then crafting of the
CBYDP; and
2. Conducting monitoring and evaluation of
the implementation of LYDP and the
execution of youth development programs
and projects.
Functions of
KK and of SK
The KK shall:
1. Elect the SK chairperson and seven (7)
members; and
2. Serve as the highest policy-making body to
decide on matters affecting the youth in the
barangay.
The SK, in general shall:
1. Create a federation in city/municipal and
provincial level;

2. Conduct SK and KK meetings;

3. Conduct an annual activity to be known as the


Linggo ng Kabataan.
The SK, in general shall:
4. Convene the Local Youth Development
Council (LYDC);

5. Coordinate with Local Youth Development


Office;

6. Promulgate resolutions necessary to carry out


the objectives of the youth in the barangay;
The SK, in general shall:
7. Initiate and implement programs, projects to
promote general welfare, development and
empowerment of the youth; and

8. Ensure timely submission of documentary


outputs.
