Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy
 Discovery of mesotherapy  dr. Pistor
(1952)

 Dr. Pistor definates mesotherapy as “a

little, not very often, in the right spot”
MESOTHERAPY
 Merupakan suatu tekhnik.
 Memasukan bahan obat tertentu dalam
jumlah terukur pada kedalaman lapisan
kulit tertentu.
Definition
 Mesotherapy is a mode of treatment in
which intradermal or superficial
subcutaneous injections are used to let
penetration of small quantities of drugs
in the body
Characteristic
 Intradermic and subcutaneous injectable
 Locoregional microinjections
 Polytherapy
 Microdosages
 Greater effectiveness
 Minimal systemic effect
Why mesotherapy?
Generally, without minor fractions,
max.0.3% - 3 % of the active substance
of topical treatment can penetrate the
skin, because of skin barrier called
“Stratum Corneum Layer”
Aesthetic Indication

 Wrinkle  Cellulite
 Scars  Fat reduction
 Stretch mark  Alopecia
 Hyperpigmentation  Acne
Contraindication
 Pregnant / Lactating Women
 Insulin Dependent / Out of Control
Diabetic
 Known Allergies to Injection Ingredients
(allergy test given)
 Active Skin Condition (herpes, eczema,
cold sores, etc.)
Side effect
 Allergy
 Short period of burning & gatal
 Pain
 Bengkak
 Hematoma
 Abscess,infection
 Hyperpigmentation

 Manual  mesotherapy needles

 Mesogun

 Dermaroller
Depth of Injection

 Intra Epidermal (IED) :

< 1 mm

 Intra Dermal Superficial

(IDS) : 1-2 mm

 Intra Dermal Profound

(IDP) : 2-4 mm

 Intra Hipodermal (IHD) :

> 4 mm
Mesotherapy

Mesoglow - Mesolift
Rejuvenate Aging Skin
Aging
 Intrinsic factor :
 Chronoaging
 Poor nutrition
 Hormonal imbalances, and extreme stress

 Extrinsic
 Exposure to sunlight (photo aging)
 Free radicals
Mesotherapy

 Stengthens elastin fibres

 Stimulates collagen production
 Fights free radicals
 Stimulates cellular activity

Fine lines will be reduced & skin will

“glow”, firmer & good texture
Frequency
 1x/ week for 1 month (4x)
 1x/ 2weeks for 1 month
 1x/ month every 3 months
Or

1 session / week during 2 months

1 session / month
Can vary according to skin condition, lifestyle,
Reaction to thetreatment, desire for quiker result
Mesococktails
 Young age: Don’t make too tight!
 Multivitamin-minerals
 Vitamin C
 AHA

 30-45 y.o.: Better to prevent than too late!

 Multivitamin-minerals
 Vitamin C
 AHA
 Synthetic DNA
Mesoglow/ mesolift cocktails
 45-65 y.o.: add lift with IDS/IDP technique
 Multivitamin-minerals
 Synthetic DNA
 Retinoic Acid
 Dimethylaminoethanol
 Hyaluronic acid

 >65 y.o. : combine with other treatment

 Botox
 Filler
 Thread implant
 Multivitamin, Minerals, & Nutrients
 provides the skin with essential vitamins
 feed and stimulate cells in the epidermis and
dermis
 stimulate and enhance metabolic and
enzymatic reactions within the skin

 Vitamin C
 Antioxidant
 Increase collagen & elastin production
 Synthetic DNA
• anti aging : repair connective tissues, antioxidants
• baldness
• ulcer treatment
• stretch-marks

 Hyaluronic-acid
 water hydration function
 Rejuvenation / anti wrinkles
 Glycolic Acid
 stimulating collagen synthesis
 decreasing the bond that holds dead skin
cells on the surface anti aging

 Retinoic acid
 stimulates the protein synthesis of epidermal
and dermal cells
 significantly improves skin youthfulness and
texture
 Dimethylaminoethanol
 Acetylcholine precursor
 Tightening effect
 Antioxidant
 Repairing collagen & elastin

Derma Roller
Process called microneedling /
skin needling
Definition
 Delivery
system of small doses of different
medications in spesific areas & depths,
using microneedle roller

 Consist of 2 parts:
 Microneedle Roller
 Topical medication for spesific indication
Indication
 Cellulitetreatment
 Skin rejuvenation : improving skin
thickness & tone, reducing wrinkle
 Reduce pigmentation
 Scars : post acne, stretch marks
 Hair Loss
Contraindication

 Disease of healing
 History of keloid
 Uncontrolled diabetes
 Pregnancy / Nursing
How it works?
Step One  The Microneedles of the
dermaroller penetrate the epidermis and
dermis layer of skin
Step 2  The derma roller needles will leave
micro channels into the skin. These channels
improve the penetration of therapeutic active
ingredients such as mesotherapy products.
These channels closed within hour. The
epidermis remains intact
Step 3  The post traumatic response of the
skin is to produce collagen and elastin. These
bulk up the thickness, creating great looking,
firmer and healthier looking skin.
Transcellular Route
Normal creaming With derma roller

No more than 0,3% can penetrate up to 40 times can be infiltrated

the skin surface through the stratum corneum

Procedure

 Cleaning the area of treatment

 Once ready to roll, apply a numbing agent.
 Rolling the Dermaroller in different
directions, with slight pressure
 Apply an antibacterial cream to protect from any
possible infection if needed

 Applying a vitamin rich moisturizer after use

 Slight reddening of the area may occur after

treatment. This will fade quickly but dependant
on the method, it may last for up to 24 hours.
Staying out of the sun for this period or using a
sunblock
 Short healing period
 Ideally,1 device per session
 Less expensive than big investment
machinary
 Can be safely combined with other
treatment. Ex. Chemical peeling
