 Rhythms that originate in the sinoatrial node (SA node)

• Normal sinus rhythm (60 – 100 bpm)
• Sinus bradycardia (< 60 bpm)
• Sinus tachycardia ( >100 bpm)
• Sinus arrhythmia (60 – 100 bpm)

Normal Sinus Rhythm

 Sinus rhythm is the normal regular rhythm of the heart set


by the natural pacemaker of the heart called the sinoatrial
node. It is located in the wall of the right atrium. Normal
cardiac impulses start there and are transmitted to the atria
and down to the ventricles.
5 Steps to Identify Normal Sinus Rhythm

1. What is the rate? 60-100 beats per minute
