DEFINITION Gangrene is type of tissue death caused by not enough
blood supply. The feet and hands are most commonly
involved. Wet or moist gangrene develops as a
complication of an untreated infected wound.

usually as a result of trauma.

CAUSES the bacteria known as Clostridia.

1. Muscle injuries
2. Severely damage tissues
3. Wounds that are very deep
4. Wounds that are contaminated with dirt
