LESSON PLAN
BIOLOGICAL
SCIENCE
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
To enable students to develop :
1) Scientific temper
2) Questioning mind
3) Understanding of environment around
them,
4) Scientific interest and attitude
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
At the end of lesson student will be able
to:
1) Define organisms
2) Differentiate between living and non
living organisms
3) Give example of terrestrial and
aquatic habitat.
4) Differentiate between biotic and
abiotic component
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE ASSUMED
 Students should be aware of different
types of living creatures and they know
their surroundings where living creatures
live.
SET INDUCTION

Q.1 When you go to zoo what do you see?

Ans. Different animals and birds
Q.2 And in the park?
Ans. Different types of flowers.
Q.3 Are they livings?
Ans.Yes
Q.4 What is the term used for livings
organisms where they live?
Ans. No answer (silence in the class)
LIVING
ORGANISM
LIVING ORGANISMS

All living creatures are called organisms.

ELEPHANT
PARROT
SURROUNDINGS OF LIVING ORGANISM

Organisms live in different surroundings like

GRASSLAND
FOREST
HABITAT
Surroundings where organisms live is called habitat.

DESERT RIVER ,
MOUNTAINS
TYPES OF HABITAT

TERRESTRIAL
AQUATIC
TERRESTRIAL HABITAT
The plants and animals that live on land are said to be live in
terrestrial habitat, For example forests ,grassland , desert

GRASSLAND
AQUATIC HABITAT
The plants and animals that live in water in water are said to
be live in aquatic habitat, For example all water bodies

RIVER
COMPONENT

BIOTIC ABIOTIC
BIOTIC COMPONENT
All living components are known as biotic component.

FOREST HUMAN
ABIOTIC COMPONENT
All non-living components are known as abiotic
components . For example :air ,water , soil

WATER
SOIL
RECAPITULATION
 Today we studied all living creatures are
known as living organisms. Surroundings
in which they live is called habitat like
camel live in desert ,fish live in water.
 Habitat is of two types : terrestrial and
aquatic.
 Habitat has two components : biotic and
abiotic.
EVALUATION
1)Give examples of terrestrial habitat?
2) Give example of biotic component?
3) What are two components of habitat?
4) What do you understand by habitat?
HOMEWORK
1) Define organisms with example?
2) Write down example of biotic
component?
3) Write down habitat of different animals?
