This is one of the most important aspects of pig farming, takes up to 80% of costs. Well fed pigs grow fast hence go to the market at the right time about 7 months of age. Poorly fed pigs grow slowly and take long in the farm hence not economical to the farmer. We do not buy age but weight of the pig.

Good farmers have breeding sows for breeding purpose- the best for sustainability. One boar can service up to 10- 15 sows adequately but must be fed well. At least 10 piglets must survive per litter for it to be economical.

Company buys cold dressed carcass weight, not as per age, not live weight. Whole carcass is weighed.

Payment is prompt always in the second day after slaughter Farmer can request for cash, Cheque, or direct bank transfer. This is the best you do not need to come to the office. Heavy pigs will always give good money but small pigs will always be a loss to you and the company.
