GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This manual will take you through the LMI View-Tech.HC202 installation and service
procedures.
The software version installed is View V1.0
This REFINED LOAD CALIBRATION MANUAL must be intended to be an extension of
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE MANUAL. For the Authorized Personnel only when a Load
Calibration is required in following cases:

• Re-calibration for obtaining better accuracy

• Calibration of a pre-memorised load table following the installation of its relevant
equipment.
• Calibration of a new equipment which load table has been transmitted by E-mail from
MCI.
In this case Lap-top is required .
Therefore this is the 3rd access level to the system requiring the 2nd password
introduction (see pages 3,4)
Anyway it is not possible to modify the LOAD TABLES Data or Initial Programming
Parameters (that require the 3rd password)
For password introducing, display reading and commands, automatic and Manual
selections, as well as sensors alignment, please refer to the Manual.
Mainly, the target of this Manual is the Refine Load Calibration.

Main system characteristics:

• Data are screened on the graphic display located in the cabin.
• The accessories stored in one EPROM, available today. They can be activated
directly from the display panel (by means of the 2nd password).
• Extremely easy calibrations procedures. They can be performed directly from the
display located in the cabin. There are protections in order to avoid unauthorized
personnel to enter into the system (passwords).
• Three different levels of access in order to protect the system by unauthorized
personnel.
1ST PASSWORD is dedicated to the Technical Personnel just to replace sensors.
Both of them can be set by the Manufacturer .
Following menus are available through 1st password:
 01 Save Data saving procedures
 15 Angle Trasd Calibration Angle
 16 Boom Trasd Calibration Length
 32 Config Language/measure system selection
" REFINED LOAD CALIBRATION " Manual 4

2nd PASSWORD, enabling a higher access level, is dedicated to the Authorised

Personnel.

The following menus are enabled:

• 32 Config. Language/measure system selection

• 33 Tools Load tables enabling
• 15 Angle Trasd Calibration Angle
• 16 Boom Trasd Calibration Length
• 26 Init Weight Correction deletion

• 10 Initialise Initialise operative mode
• 01 Save Data saving procedures
• 30 Parameters Visualization parameters

• 50 Black Box Black Box
• 52 Time Setting Time Setting

•The 3rd password is reserved to the programming staff.

•Some visualizations of the diagnostic are however enabled without password.
(see Maintenance Manual – 1° access level)
•Both the first two passwords may be programmed directly by the manufacturer.
•The load charts are written on EXCEL® sheet, filled and written in the EPROM
with specific
•Macro commands directly by the Manufacturer.
•All the messages for the operator, including the type of accessories mounted,
are visualized in 4 languages selectable during the testing.

CALIBRATION PROCEDURES
This chapter describes the calibration procedure of a machine that could be needed, after
proper verification, when a better accuracy is requested or when a pre-programmed
accessory load table must be activated.
The calibration is performed directly from the machine display.

In order the calibration steps are the following:

• Initial checks.
• Mechanical alignment of the angle and extension transducers.
• Client configuration setting (language and Measure system)
• Attachments activation
• Transducer calibrations.
• Initialisation of Load Calibration
• Weight Corrections "no load applied"
• Weight corrections "under load."

INITIAL CHECKS
Before switching on the system it is good practice to check all the connections, particularly
those of the power supplies, the transducers and the lock relay. Then make sure that the
Eprom is ON and that in general everything is in order. Then switch on the systems.
To be performed before calibrations procedures

MECHANICAL ALIGNMENT OF ANGLE AND EXTENSION SENSORS

Following the replacement of a potentiometer, even if this has been done carefully, it is
suggested to check its alignment.
The following procedure, if properly done, allows the total restoring of the machine behaviour
without any calibration operation.

Switch on the machine without load and wait for a few seconds
for the main working data panel monitoring on the display as
shown here.
VERIFY ANGLES

After that press the key a number of times until the page
showing the readings of sensors digital values is displayed.
A1adc A1act
With regard to the angle setting, it is simply necessary to check
that in horizontal (=°) positioning of the boom xxx xxx
1)the reading of the sensor “A1adc” is between 1800 and 1850
by rotating its body before fixing it, and that it decreases as the
boom is raised.

VERIFY EXTENSION

For the extension after replacing the sensor act on its shaft to
check that reading S1adc S1act
1) on “S1adc” 55 xxx xxx
2) on “S2adc” 55

Also, in case of cable replacement it is necessary to pre-tension

approximately 1 Mt. of cable-reel cable fixing opposite end at S2adc S2act
the position where reading of the sensor “S1adc” 55 and
“S2adc” 55. xxx xxx
Check:
-when extend the value S1adc increase
-when retract the value S2adc increase

After the replacement of the sensor it is recommended to verify the correspondence of

values shown on the display into a couple of known positioning of the boom.
I.E.: boom IN and boom OUT, or Boom lower position (Min Angle) and Boom Upper
Position (Max Angle) .

These displayed values must correspond to the values given by the Manufacturer for this
specific model of the machine.

PASSWORD SETTING

Three different level of passwords in order to protect the system by unauthorized personnel.
The first is dedicated to the Technical Personnel just to replace sensors, the second one is
dedicated to the Service Personnel. Both of them can be settled by the Manufacturer.
The 3rd password is for the programming Engineers only.

Switch machine on and wait for a few seconds until the

Press some times the key to scroll the asterisk

above the desired figure and modify its value by means of
keys. *
Confirm it and the following ones (PASSWORD) by Code: XXXX
The PASSWORD code is memorised into the EPROM
together with the machine data; its number must be known
only by Authorised Personnel.
On the display the main data page is shown as indicated here.
If the main unit is new, it might indicates the Alarm “1”: this,
before machine calibration is normal procedures, but it Alarm : xx
should disappear at the first “SAVE” function. Code: x
If other alarms occur, it is necessary to clean them up
before continuing.

CALIBRATION DATA DOWNLOADING ON E2PROM
