God our loving Father,
we ask your blessing on these children and
their families beginning their preparations
for the Sacrament of Penance. Fill us with
your gifts of love and peace
and guide us into the way of your peace
and goodness.

First Reconciliation

 The first Rite of Reconciliation – restoring relationship/friendship


with God- In class we have been learning about our conscience and
how we make personal conscience and the gift that God has given
to us that helps us make good choices. We have learnt through our
relationship with God that when we make mistakes we can be
forgiven through reconciliation.
 The second Rite of Reconciliation – a celebratory service where
priest and penitent dialogue to assist the growth of the penitent’s
relationship with God.
 Outline the topics/areas the class will be covering during their
preparation.
• Cristian Conscience.
• Deliberate and accidental sins.
• The Gift of forgiveness
• Making better choices.
Suggestions for parents to help in
their children’s preparation.
– Parents play an active role in the initiation of their children by: – We may care to share a story about forgiveness
and understanding from the Bible during family

Student Parent Sharing

– It is now time to share what we have learnt with our parents


– Students will show their parents their Art work and explain what they have been learning.
– Students and parents will have a think and share activity, this will be personal between
student and parent. ( student and parent are to reflect on a time where they made a bad
choice)
– Parents and students discuss how we can be forgiven for our sins
– Students are to draw a picture of how they can make things better
– Parents and students consider the 2 wonder questions.
– 1. I Wonder how God and others can forgive us?
– 2.I Wonder why we do make wrong choices ?
