Discovering Islam

Freedom Of Choice
=
Different Choices
Different Choices ≠ Attacking each other

Different Choices ≠ Refusing one another

Different Choices = We Are Different

To be different without fighting = Knowing one another.

Are all Muslims Good Muslims?

Muslims = Good Muslims + Bad Muslims

Islam & its teachings ≠ Muslims’ behavior

Islam & its teachings = The Qur’an + prophet

Muhammad’s authentic teachings.
Choose Your Own Path
& know One another
From the Qur'an; the Holy book of Islam we can read
verses stressing this concept where it says:

• "Let there be no compulsion in religion, the righteous

path has been made manifest from the deviated one"
[002:256].

• "Had your Lord willed (O Muhammad), all those on

earth would have believed altogether. Would you,
then, compel people, so that they become believers?"
[010:99].
• "The truth is from your Lord. Then, whosoever wills
may believe and whosoever wills may deny."
[018:29].

• "We have not sent you (O Muhammad) but as a

mercy for all creatures." [021:107].

• "So, if they turn away (from you), then We did not

send you (O Muhammad) as a supervisor over them.
Your duty is but to convey the message." [042: 48].

• "O mankind, We have created you from a male and a

female, and made you into races and tribes, so that
you may know one another. Surely the noblest among
you in God’s sight, are those who are most pious.
Surely God is All-Knowing, All-Aware." [049:13].
All Mankind : One Family : Adam’s
Family
"O mankind! Be pious to your Lord; Who created you from
a single soul and from it’s kind He created its match, and
from them He created many men and women; so fear
your God through Whom you demand (Your mutual
rights), and do not sever the relations of the wombs. For
surely God is ever an All-Watcher over you." [004:1].

One Family = Be “kind & Just” to one

another
God’s vicegerent on Earth :
Adam & his children.
"(Remember) when your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to
create a vicegerent on the earth!” They said, “Will You create
there one who will spread disorder and cause bloodshed while
we glorify Your praise, and sanctify You?” He said, “Certainly,
I know what you know not.” And He (God) taught Adam the
nature of all things, then He placed them before the angles and
said: “Tell me the nature of these if you are right”. They (the
angels) said: “Glory be to you, we have no knowledge except
what you have taught us, verily, it is you who is the All-
Knower, All-Wise”. He said: “O Adam! Tell them their
natures.” When he had told them, God said: “Did I not tell you
that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and I know what
you reveal and what you conceal?”." [002:30-33].
God’s vicegerent on Earth :
Adam & his children.
"And We bestowed dignity on the children of Adam and provided
them with rides on the land and in the sea, and provided them
with a variety of good things and made them much superior (i.e.
in knowledge) to many of those whom We have created."
[017:70].
Job : - Obey Creator’s orders
- Protect our trust (i.e. earth)
- Fight against those who spread mischief
- Respect the ties of Kinship
For the above Job Islam is neither only Materialistic nor only
Spiritual; it’s a complete Way of life that balances both in the life
of its embracer to live rightly.
Now To The Main 3 Questions

1. What does Islam mean & What is Islam's

main concept?

2. What does it call for believing in?

3. What are the main basic deeds of Islam as a

way of life? The main pillars upon which
Islam is built?
Islam
• Linguistically: Surrender – Peace

• Idiomatically: Surrendering one’s way of life

to that taught by our creator sent in His
messages, delivered by His chosen prophets to
achieve Peace of mind and soul in this life and
the hereafter as well.
Basic Concept
"This whole universe came to existence with the
power of a mighty creator who is Omnipotent,
Omniscient, eternal, everlasting & besides whom
there exists no other deities worthy of love,
obedience, asking aid, complaining, fear &
worship"

"There is no God but Allah"

Is Allah a different God from the God of Christians

and Jews?
“God” in the languages of the prophets
1- In Hebrew : Alah
Same word,
2- In Aramaic : Alaha Different accents

3- In Arabic : Allah

Which of these 4 words is the most odd?

{Alah – Alaha – Allah – God}

Allah: in Arabic means in English: "The One True God"

It is used by the Arabic speaking Christians and Jews as
well, it is mentioned in the Arabic Bible more than 2000
times.
Can Allah’s existence be proven
scientifically?
YES, Amazingly In Islam It Can be.

Scientists explain that the whole universe started with an

explosion or what they called a big bang in a singularity
point in the nonexistence turning it in to a universal celestial
dust cloud (an Established Referral theory), after which
planets and stars were formed due to gravity between the
close particles, while all planets and stars are in continuous
motion away from each other due to the explosion. In 1925,
Edwin Hubble (after whom the Hubble Space telescope is
named) provided the conclusive observational evidence for
the expansion of the universe, or as Stephen Hawking put it:
"The universe is not static, as had previously been thought, it
was expanding."

• Among the scientists are those who believe in the
existence of the intelligent creator or the intelligent
designer who was responsible for these happenings
and controlling them, others believe that everything
happened by coincidence randomly and that the
universe including all of its creatures needed no
intelligent creator to design and organize it.

• Einstein had an opinion that the organized

distribution of energy and matter is what has created
space and place. Which only means that this bang was
governed and controlled to produce the universe and
the physical laws that govern it were placed by an
“Intelligent Omniscient Creator”.
Islam’s poInt of vIew
From the Qur’an we read:
• "Allah did not create (all) that (i.e. the universe) except in truth. He
details the signs (in the Qur'an) for people of knowledge (i.e.
scientists, scholars, truth seekers, etc.)" [010:5].
• "Say (O Muhammad): "Go about in the earth and look how He (i.e.
Allah) has originated the creation"." [029:20].
• "And those who were given knowledge see that which was sent
down upon you (O Muhammad) by your Lord is the truth and
guides to the path of the Exalted (in Might) the worthy of all
praise." [034:6].
• "We shall show them Our signs in the universe and within
themselves until it will become clear to them that it (i.e. the Qur'an)
is the Truth. Does it not suffice that your Lord is Witness over all
things?" [041:53].
Islam’s poInt of vIew
From the Qur’an we read:
• "Do not the disbelievers observe that the heavens and the earth
were combined then We ruptured them" [021:30].
• "Then He (i.e. Allah) equilibrated unto the firmament (sky) when it
was smoke and said unto it and to the earth: come willingly or
unwillingly. They said: we come willingly (O Lord)" [041:11].
• "And the firmament (sky) We constructed with power and skill and
verily We are expanding it" [051:47].
Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H. died 1400 years ago.
Did Muhammad P.B.U.H. visit outer space?
Did he have an infrared telescope?
Did he have a time machine?
Was he an inspired prophet by the creator? Muslims believe he was.
Main Beliefs
There are 6 main beliefs in Islam:
• Allah; the Only True God
• The Angels
• The Scriptures “Holy Books”
• The Prophets
• The Judgment Day
• The Divine destiny
Allah
Islam teaches that Allah is unique, nothing compares
to Him, He neither begot nor was He begotten and
there could be no rivals for Him.

Perfection couldn’t be attributed except to Him, He is

Absolute in all His attributes; that is He is Most
Merciful, Most Gracious, Most Kind, Most Just, Most
Mighty, Most Powerful, etc.

He is the Living, the Everlasting. Slumber does not seize

Him, neither sleep; to Him belongs all that is in the
Heavens and the Earth.
Angels
Pure creatures without lust or self desires.

Their soul mission is the obedience of Allah's orders and

performing the tasks assigned to them.

Example: Archangel "Gabriel" who is the one

responsible for delivering the revelations from Allah
to His chosen prophets and supporting them as Allah
orders him.
Scriptures
The Torah – The Psalms – The Evangel –
The scriptures of Abraham – and their
Sealing Scripture : The Qur'an

Muslims believe in the divinity of the original scriptures

of each of those books; that is the original wording in
the original language as was written at the time of
each prophet; not the translations that are all human
works subjected to discrepancies and distortions.
Scriptures
The Qur'an & the old scriptures
“It was We who revealed the Torah (to Moses) therein was guidance
and light. By its standard - the Jews - judged the prophets who
submitted to Allah's will and the rabbis and (those who devoted
themselves to Allah)” [005:44].

“And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the
Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was
guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come
before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear
Allah.” [005:46].

“And unto you (Muhammad) We revealed the Scripture (Qur’an) with

the truth, confirming whatever Scripture was before it, and a
watcher/corrector over it.” [005:48].
Scriptures
The Qur'an
Knowledge in the Qur’an discusses the following
categories:
1- Knowledge about our creator.
2- Knowledge about the previous nations.
3- Knowledge about ourselves & about life.
4- Knowledge about the hereafter.

With this built up intelligent knowledge about the creator

& the creation, the present and the history, this life and the
hereafter; a balanced moderate personality is formed that
enables every person to live rightly and achieve the peace
of mind and tranquility of soul.
Every Human Is A Free Agent
Islam teaches that humans are born pure of sins, while they are still
children they are God’s beloved, prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H. said:
“Children are God’s beloved”. They are not held accountable for their
deeds except after growing up enough to understand what’s right from
what’s wrong and become able to determine the difference by their own
intellect.
Islam teaches responsibility; that no one will be judged for anyone else’s
sins or deeds, every person will be brought on a judgment day carrying
his own sins on his shoulders. No one will be able to say I didn’t have the
choice whether to believe or disbelieve, but the only thing that you can do
is to state the logical reasons you found fair & reasonable to follow this
choice or that.
Islam teaches that God is closest to any one of us more than any of His
creation and He orders those who believe in Him to only invocate Him for
their needs and forgiveness, there is no middle agent between man and
God in Islam.
Scriptures
The Qur'an & knowledge
The very first verse ever revealed:
“Read in the name of your Lord who has created” [096:1].
The last verse revealed:
“And be prepared for a day in which you shall return to Allah, and
every soul shall be recompensed for what it earned and they
shall not be misjudged” [002:281].
The only thing that Muslims are ordered to ask for increase in:
“So High above all is Allah, the True King! And do not hasten
with (reciting) the Qur’an before its revelation to you is
concluded (O Muhammad), and say, “My Lord, increase me in
knowledge.”.” [020:114].
Scriptures
The Sunnah & knowledge
“True Knowledge should lead to devoutness”
Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H. said:
“Whosoever travels a road in search of knowledge, Allah will make
easy for him to travel on one of the roads of Paradise. The angels
will lower their wings in their great pleasure with one who seeks
knowledge, the inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth even the
fish in the deep waters will ask forgiveness for the learned man. The
superiority of the learned man over the devout is like that of the full
moon, over the rest of the stars. The learned ones are the heirs of
the Prophets, for the Prophets leave neither dinars nor dirhams
(kinds of currency), they only leave knowledge, and he who takes it
takes an abundant portion.” [Narrated by Abu-Daawood].
Islam & science
Muslim Scientists
• Jabir Ibn Hayyan “Geber” (721–815 AD): known as The father of
chemistry. His books strongly influenced the European alchemists and
had great contribution in developing the science.
• Muhammad Al-Khuwarizmi (780–850 AD): known as The father of
Algebra, he contributed by his work in the development of trigonometry
and calculus. Algorithm is named after him.
• Al-Hassan Ibn Al-Haytham (965–1040 AD): the developer of the theory
of vision and the science of Optics. He is the author of the "Book of
optics" that served as the concrete foundation for most optics' scholars
after him.
• Abbas Ibn Firnas (810–887 AD): an inventor and engineer who worked
on developing the mechanics of flight even before "Eilmer of
Malmesbury" and DaVinci. His back was hurt badly in his first
experiment of flying, but he learned that the tail is very important in
steerage while landing.

Muslim Scientists
• Abul-Qasim Al-Zahrawi (936-1013 AD): known as "The father of modern
surgery". He wrote a 30-part medical encyclopedia in Arabic. The last
part of the encyclopedia, dealing with surgery, was later translated into
Latin.

• Abdullah Ibn Sina (981-1037 AD): a very well known physician known
as "Avicenna". He authored the "Canon of Medicine" and the "Book of
Healing". His writings were considered the authority of medicine in
European universities for over 550 years after his departure.

• Ahmad Ibn Al-Farghani (died after 861 AD): known as Alfraganus in the
West. He was an astronomer in 9th century. He had many contributions in
the measurement of the diameter of the Earth as well as many other
planets. His textbook of astronomy on the celestial motions, written about
833 AD and his calculations were used by astronomers since his time
until Copernicus about 600 years later. The crater Alfraganus on the
Moon is named after him.

• Muhammad Ibn Sinan Al-Battani (858-929 AD): Albategnius, was an
astronomer and mathematician. He introduced a number of trigonometric
relations, that were frequently used and quoted by many medieval
astronomers, including Copernicus, Riccioli & others.

• Abdullah Ibn Al-Baytar (1188-1248 AD): was a pharmacist and

physician. His books were considered the greatest pharmaceutical,
botanical and medical compilations in history, and served as botanical
authority for centuries. They described more than 1200 plants and drugs,
300 of which were his own original discoveries. His work was translated
into Latin in 1758 AD and was used in Europe up until the early 19th
century. Ibn Al-Baytar also discovered the earliest known herbal
treatment for cancer: Al-Hindba'.
Prophets
From the Qur'an we read:
"Say (O Muslims): "We believe in Allah, and that which has been
send down to us (i.e. Qur’an), and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac,
Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and
that given to the prophets from their Lord: We make no
distinction between one and another of them: And to Him (i.e.
Allah) we have submitted"." [002:136].

“I bear witness that Muhammad is the prophet of Allah”

= I bear witness that the Qur’an is the true word of Allah
= I bear witness that all the prophets mentioned in the Qur’an
are Allah’s prophets and that Muhammad is their seal.
Prophets
Muslims believe that Prophets are the best humans who ever lived on
this earth. They never committed any sins intentionally and they
never disobeyed their creator in the least manner.
They are the most afflicted, most pious & most patient of all mankind.
All Prophets came with the same creed of faith for their Sender is
ONE. Every prophet was sent only to his people except for the final
prophet who was to deliver the final message with the final laws; he
was sent for all people.
 Same Sender – Same Creed Of Faith
 Different Recipients – Different Languages – Different Miracles
 Different Timing – Different Laws
 Final Message – Final Laws – For All People
Prophets
The mightiest five of all prophets according to the Qur'an are:
Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus & Muhammad P.B.U.T.
Spelled out in the verse that says:
"And recall (O Muhammad) when We took from the prophets
their covenant, and from you and from Noah and Abraham and
Moses and Jesus the son of Maryam, and We did take from
them a firm covenant". [033-7].

Noah : 46 times. Abraham : 75 times.

Moses : 169 times. Jesus : 16 times.
Muhammad : 3 times.

A total of 25 prophets are mentioned by name in the Qur’an.

Muhammad
Muslims believe that Muhammad is the seal of all prophets P.B.U.T.,
all of the previous prophets informed their followers about him and
gave them glad tidings of his coming with the final law that can
gather all people in the seal of all messages from the creator.
He was a descendant of Abraham from his son Ishmael’s offspring.
His father died before he was born, his mother died when he was six.
He was raised up as an orphan.
During his young age he worked as a shepherd, when he was old
enough to travel he worked as a caravan traveler until a few years
later at 25 years old he married Lady Khadijah and they were
blessed by 4 girls and 2 boys.
He used to seclude himself for worship in a cave inside one of the
mountains surrounding the valley of Baca. At the age of forty he
started receiving revelations from his Creator.
Muhammad
Muhammad P.B.U.H. was illiterate, but still the mightiest poets of
Arabia couldn’t come with what’s more beautiful than what he
recited.
After 12.5 years of persecution, torture & killings, he ordered his
followers to immigrate to Madinah and followed them a while latter
when he was 53 years old, and there he started establishing the first
civil state mankind ever knew at that time.
By establishing a place for Muslims to live in peacefully and preach
their religion; the idolaters started fearing for their influence on the
caravans traveling on the roads to Sham that when they pass
through Madinah and meet Muslims there; they may embrace their
religion and boycott Makkah, so they planned to kill the prophet
and attack Madinah. This lead to many battles between both sides.
Within 10 years Muslims triumphed over their enemies despite being
outnumbered in all battles.
Muhammad
Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H. died at the age of 63 with his head on
Lady A'ishah’s lap. On that day at dawn he forced himself up from
on his illness bed and watched the Muslims praying after Abu-Bakr
inside the mosque, he smiled at them as if bidding them farewell,
when they noticed him while praying, Abu-Bakr moved backwards
for the prophet to lead the prayers but the prophet said: “Nay
continue your prayers.” and went back in to Lady A'ishah’s room.
Lady A’ishah reported that: “When Allah's Messenger P.B.U.H. fell ill,
and his illness took a serious turn I took hold of his hand so that I
should rub his body with his blessed hand. But he withdrew his
hand from mine and then said: “O Allah, pardon me and let me join
your companion”. I kept on watching him till he passed away.”
[narrated by Muslim].
Muhammad
Among what some honest Non-Muslim historians said about him & his
teachings are the following statements:
“It is a great shame for anyone to listen to the accusation that Islam is a lie and
that Muhammad was a fabricator and a deceiver. We saw that he steadfast
upon his principals with firm determination, kind and generous,
compassionate, pious, virtuous, with real manhood, hardworking and sincere.
Besides all these qualities he was lenient with others, tolerant, kind, cheerful,
praiseworthy, and perhaps he would joke and tease his companions.”
Thomas Carlyle, On Heroes, London, 1840.
“If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astounding results are the
three criteria of human genius, who could dare to compare any great man in
modern history with Muhammad?” Lamartine, Histoire de la Turquie. 1854
“He was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without Pope’s pretensions,
Caesar without the legions of Caesar: without a standing army, without a
bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue; if ever any man had
the right to say that he ruled by the right divine, it was Mohammad, for he
had all the power without its instruments and without its supports.”
Rev. Benjamin B. Smith, Mohammad and Mohammadanism, London 1874.
Muhammad
“It was the first religion that preached and practiced democracy; for in the
mosque, when the call for prayer is sounded, and worshippers are gathered
together, the democracy of Islam is embodied five times a day when the
peasant and king kneel side by side and proclaim: ‘God Alone is Great’ I
have been struck over and over again by this indivisible unity of Islam that
makes man instinctively a brother” Sarojini Naidu; The famous poetess of
India, 1918.
“It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great
Prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel
anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers
of the Supreme.” Annie Besant, Life and Teachings of Muhammad, 1932.
“His readiness to undergo persecutions for his beliefs, the high moral character
of the men who believed in him and looked up to him as leader, and the
greatness of his ultimate achievement all argue his fundamental integrity. To
suppose Muhammad an impostor raises more problems than it solves.
Moreover, none of the great figures of history is so poorly appreciated in the
West as Muhammad.” W. Montgomery, Mohammad at Macca, 1953.
Muhammad
“My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential
persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but
he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the
religious and secular levels.” M.Hart, THE 100: A Ranking of the most
influential persons in history, New York, 1978.
CONCLUSION: “I have read in Moslem writings such deep and tender
expressions of respect and reverence for Jesus that for the time I almost
forgot, I was not reading the words of a Christian writer. How different, it
is sad to say, has been the way in which Christians have spoken and
written of Muhammad. Let us put it down to it’s true cause, ignorance”
Reverend R. Maxwell King.
Among the teachings of the prophet P.B.U.H.:
“O People, your God is one, your father is one. There is neither superiority
of an Arab on a non-Arab, nor of a non-Arab on an Arab, nor of a white
(man) on a black, nor of a black (man) on a white except by piety”
“Love for all people what you love for yourself; and you shall be a Muslim.”
Muhammad
“I swear by Allah, He, the Almighty does not bestow His mercy except on a
merciful one”. The companions said: “Oh! Messenger of Allah, we are all
merciful”. He P.B.U.H. said: “I don't mean your mercy towards each
other, but towards all mankind”.
“No man realizes the reality about faith until he loves for all people what he
loves for himself.”
“The best believers who have completely believed among you are the ones
with best manners, and the most kind among you are those who are kind
to their women.”
“Be at the aid of your brother, whether he is oppressive or he is oppressed”.
People asked, “O Allah's messenger! It is all right to be at his aid if he is
oppressed, but how should we be at his aid if he is oppressive?” The
Prophet said, “By stopping him from oppressing others”.
“The one who strives on taking care of the widows and the needy is like him
who is striving in the cause of Allah.”
"Fulfill your consignments to those who have entrusted you, and do not
betray those who have betrayed you."
Muhammad
“One of the finest acts of kindness is for a man to honor his fathers’ friends
in a kind way after he (i.e. the father) has departed.”
“Allah is kind and likes kindness in all things.”
“He hasn't believed in me, him who sleeps at night with a full stomach
knowing that his neighbor is hungry.”
His servant 'Anas described him saying: “The prophet was the most beloved
person to us all, whenever we saw him approaching, we only wouldn't
getup for him (in his honor), for we knew how much he hated that."
“The Prophet, would accept an invitation even if he was presented barley
bread and soup whose taste has changed.”
His cousin Abdullah Ibn Abbas described him saying: “The prophet used to
sit on the floor, eat on the floor, tether his sheep and accept a slave's
invitation.”
Abdullah son of Omar Ibn Al-Khattab described him saying: “I never saw
anyone more generous, more succor, more courageous, or more clean and
handsome than the prophet P.B.U.H.”
Muhammad
Abu-Huraira; one of the prophet's famous companions said: “I never saw
anything more beautiful than the messenger of Allah P.B.U.H., as if the
sun runs in his face, and I never saw anyone faster in his walk than the
messenger of Allah P.B.U.H., as if the earth was rolled up for him.”
Abi-Obaida Ibn Ammar; the follower asked Lady Robbai' Bint Ma'uth about
how the prophet looked like, she said: "Oh, my son, if you had seen him,
it's as if you can see the sun rise in his face"
Hind Ibn Abi-Halah; the prophet’s stepson described him, among what he
said: “He was in continuous hardships, always thoughtful, he never rested
but joined his night with day, Never spoke for no reason..... he was never
offensive, he always glorified any favor no matter how small it was and
never dispraised anything of it…..not a matter of this worldly life ever
made him angry unless what's right was violated, then he wouldn't calm
until he corrects the situation, he never got angry for himself and he never
avenged himself. …When ever he was angry he would look away, and
when ever something pleased him he would lower his looks, his laughter
was all smiling.”
Muhammad
Jabir Ibn Abdullah reported that: “Never was the Prophet asked for any
thing to be given and his answer was 'no'.”
Ali Ibn Abi-Talib the prophet's cousin said describing the prophet's manners
and assembly: “The Messenger of Allah was always cheerful, easy-going,
pleasant-tempered and lenient…. His broad mindedness and tolerance
embraced all people and entitled him to be regarded as father for them
all…. He was willingly and modestly obeyed by everybody…. To him, all
of them were equal…. Nobody was better than another except on the
criterion of piety. A favored one, to him, was the most Allah fearing…. His
assembly was a meeting of clemency, patience and honesty… Voices were
never raised in rows or riots. They esteemed the old and reflected mercy
on the young. They assisted the needy and entertained their guests.”
If he saw any animal over-loaded or ill-fed he would pull up the owner and
say: "Fear Allah in your treatment of animals."
Muhammad
Lady A'ishah; the prophet's wife and mother of believers, described him,
among what she said: “The prophet P.B.U.H. had a shining face that
shone like the moon, he was the most handsome among all people with
the most shining cuticle, never had (I heard) anyone describing him
except by comparing him to the moon during its full night”
“The prophet's eyes were big and beautiful with black colored iris, his eye
lashes were long and dense that they almost merged”
“He always joined in household work and would at times mend his clothes,
repair his footwear and sweep the floor. He would milk, tether, and feed
the animals and do the household shopping.”
Regarding his conduct she said: “Never had the prophet's hands hit a
servant, a woman nor anyone at all except at battle.”
Regarding his piety she said: “The prophet P.B.U.H. used to stand in prayers
most of the night until his legs swell, so I asked him 'O, messenger of
Allah, haven't Allah forgiven all of your sins', so the prophet answered:
'O, 'A'ishah, shouldn't I be a grateful servant'.”
Muhammad
Lady A'ishah reported that the prophet taught her: “O, A'ishah! show
gentleness, for if gentleness is found in anything, it beautifies it and when
it is taken out from anything it spoils it.”
She also reported that he said: “O, A’ishah! Never turn away any needy
beggar from your door empty-handed even if you had nothing but half a
dried date. O, A’ishah! Love the poor; bring them near to you and Allah
will bring you near to Him on the Day of Resurrection.”
Regarding his love for children she said: “Newly born babies were brought
to the prophet to invocate Allah to bless them, he would carry the baby
brought to him in his lap to honor his parents, sometimes babies urinated
on the prophet's lap which embarrassed the child's parents and made
them hurry in carrying him away, but then the prophet would prevent
them saying: 'Don't disturb him and let him finish his pee'.”
Al-Bara' Ibn-Aazeb described the prophet's courage saying: “Whenever the
fight grew fierce, we used to resort to the Prophet for succor and the
bravest man among us was the most close to him.”
Ali also said: “Whenever the fight grew fierce and the eyes of fighters went
red, we used to resort to the Prophet for shelter. He was always the closest
to the enemy.”
Muhammad
Sahl Ibn Sa'd; the companion said: “A woman brought a garment to
the Prophet. That woman said, 'O messenger of Allah! I have
brought you this that you may wear it'. So the Prophet accepted it,
and he was in need of it so he wore it. A man among his
companions, seeing him wearing it, said, 'O messenger of Allah!
Please give it to me to wear.' The Prophet said, 'Yes' (took it off and
gave it to him). When the Prophet left, the man was blamed by his
companions who said, "It was not nice on your part to ask the
Prophet for it while you knew that he took it because he was in need
of it, and you also knew that he (the Prophet) never turns down
anybody's request'. The man said:
'I just wanted to have its blessings as the Prophet had put it on, so l
hoped that I would be shrouded in it when I die'.”
Judgment day
As explained earlier; Adam and his progeny were created for a certain
job and assignment. Islam teaches that the performance of every
one of them is recorded in each and every second of this worldly
life for evaluation & judgment
People = Good People + Bad People
Though Both Muslims
Bin laden ≠ Omar Ibn Al-Khattab
Though Both Christians
Hitler ≠ Matthew the disciple
Though Both Criminals
Bin Laden (5,000 Civilians) ≠ Hitler (6,000,000 Civilians)
{Hitler = 1200 Bin Laden}
Divine destiny
Place of Birth – Time of Birth – Parents – Relatives – How we are
raised up – What we are taught during childhood – Places we travel
to – People whom we encounter during our lives – Money that we
earn – Place of death – Time of death – Way of death
Allah destined me to be born an Egyptian and not a Hindu or an
American.
Can anyone claim that he/she planed any of these things?
“Freedom Of Choice” does not contradict “Divine Destiny”
Allah destined me to earn 10,000$ this month, but by theft or honest
hard work is something of my own choice and not destiny.

Allah destined me to visit Saudi-Arabia, but I chose to visit it as a

Pilgrim and not on a business trip.
Main deeds
There are 5 main obligatory deeds on which Islam
is built:
• The Testimonies
• The Prayers
• The Alms Giving “Zakah”
• The Fasting Of Ramadan
• The Pilgrimage
Testimonies
The door way to Islam is to say:

“I bear witness that there is no God but Allah,

and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah”

If anyone utters these words in secret or in public while

really believing in them by heart; then he/she is a
Muslim.
Prayers

There are five obligatory prayers a day: The Dawn, The Noon, The After
Noon, The After Sunset & The Night prayers.
Zakah
2.5% of the saved money that has completed a whole year under one’s
possession.
Is 25 $ out of every 1000 $ really too much?!
Zakah is calculated and paid for money savings, owned cattle, sheep,
camels, horses, raised crops upon their gathering, gold and silver.
For each of the previous there is a minimum magnitude below
which the owner pays no Zakah except out of his/her own freewill.
Zakah is paid to all the poor and indigents, to the broke strangers,
whether Muslims or Non-Muslims.
This helps to redistribute the wealth of the whole society. Applying
zakah correctly eventually eliminates poverty from the society as
has happened to the countries ruled by Islam in their golden ages.
Fasting Ramadan
Fasting = Training On Self Control
Real Happiness = Full Control On Both the Body and the Soul
One Month / Year = Rehabilitation For the Soul
In the month of Ramadan every year, Muslims abstain themselves
from permissible things during the daylight time training
themselves on having full control over their lusts and desires.
If someone swears at you, you say: "I'm fasting".
When something enrages you, you show patience.
If a beautiful woman passes infront of you; you look away.
If you feel extremely hungry and see food infront of you, you remember the
poor and the needy when they see the food and cannot buy it.
When you feel extremely thirsty, you think of the people who were besieged
in Kosovo, Bosnia or Palestine without water for weeks and months.
Pilgrimage

The grand deed that gathers all of the spiritual meanings contained in the
previous four ones, it's the deed in which every Muslim gets to experience and
feel the main objective and target of this way of life.
If any one truly seeks peace with
Muslims, it is granted.
Allah orders Muslims in the Qur’an:
• "But if they incline to peace, you also incline to it, and
put your trust in God, Verily He is the All-Hearer, the All-
Knower, And if they intend to deceive you, then verily
God is All-Sufficient for you." [008:61-62].
Allah teaches Muslims in the Qur’an:
• "God does not inhibit you from those who did not fight
against your religion and did not drive you out from your
homes that you treat them kindly and deal fairly with
them. Surely God loves those who are fair." [060:8].
JIHAD = Standing firm
for what’s rIght

Spiritual Jihad = Resisting Sins’ Seduction
Health Jihad = Helping The Weak, The Ill & The Handicapped
Pecuniary Jihad = Taking Care Of Orphans & Widows
Pecuniary Jihad = Taking Care Of The Indigents & Needy
Combative Jihad = Defending One’s Country, Honour, Family &
Belongings
Combative Jihad = Defending The Oppressed Weak
Jihad = any true muslIm’s ConduCt
Women : The Crowned
Queens in Islam
“And the believers, men and women, are protecting friends one
of another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and
they establish worship and they pay the poor-due, and they
obey Allah and His messenger. As for these, Allah will have
mercy on them. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Wise.” [009:71].
“And it is among His signs that He has created for you wives
from among yourselves, so that you may find tranquility in
them, and He has created love and kindness between you.
Verily, in this are indeed signs for people who reflect.”
[030:21].
Women : The Crowned
Queens in Islam
Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H. said: "The most perfect believers
are the best in conduct, and the best of you are those who are
best (i.e. in treatment) to their wives."
"None but a noble man treats women in an honorable manner,
and none but an ignoble treats women disgracefully."
"This worldly life's wealth is nothing but good support (i.e. that
strengthens you up) and the best strengths of this world is a
righteous wife."
"Men propose to a woman for four reasons: her wealth, her
noble ancestry, her beauty and her piousness, So win her who
is pious or you shall end up empty handed."
Veil
“If the virgin Mary
appears wearing a
veil on all her
pictures How can
you ask me to sign a
Hijab ban law?”
