Abstract
GAPDH is a specific
enzyme called a house
keeping gene that is
expressed in all cells of an
organism. GAPDH is
approximately 37 KDa and
plays a key role in
glycolysis. This enzyme in
glycolysis catalyzes the
first step of the pathway by
converting G3P into 3-
phospho-D-glycerol
phosphate.
Introduction
Glyceraldehyde-3-
phosphate
dehydrogenase (GAPDH)
is a 37 KDa enzyme that
plays a main role in
glycolysis, hence serving
to break down glucose for
energy and carbon
molecules.
