Use the correct format to get 3 marks
CONTENT
1. Use the points/notes given to make sentences.
2. 1 content point = 1 sentence
3. Do not copy all content points (total lifting) without elaborating or using
own words.
4. The mark is 0 for each content point if total lifting.
Tips !
On content:
Remember, one extra sentence or two is usually enough. You don’t
have to write too long. Also, the details must be relevant, suitable
and interesting too.
On language:
Try and make sure grammar, punctuation and spelling are error-
free.
Always check your writing once you are done with answering the
question.
Avoid using words that you are not sure of the meaning or writing
with long sentences.

ENGLISH 1119 PAPER 1 – CONTINUOUS WRITING
Continuous Writing
In continuous writing, candidates are given five topics.
The topics can be categorized as follows:
1. Narrative – Write about your experience helping Puan Ramlah, an elderly lady who lives alone. End
your story with:”…I learnt a lot about myself by helping Puan Ramlah.”
2. Descriptive – Write a story about a time in someone’s life when music played an important role.
3. Factual/expository – There are many things to do after SPM examination. Write about your plans
for the next three months and the challenges you might face.
4. Argumentative – Some people believe that all students in Malaysia should learn at least three
language. What do you think?
Choose only ONE topic that you think is very relevant to you and you can give your BEST!
