Company Background
Globally recognized leader in off-grid biomass based power systems
Husk Power Systems (HPS) provides access to electricity to rural
households through small scale biomass-based systems and
distributes power through a microgrid.
The first power plant was set up in 2007 under Samta Samriddhi
Foundation in Tamkuha village, which means “fog of darkness.”
HPS distributes electricity directly to households and small businesses while keeping
costs low by running insulated wires along bamboo poles to subscribing households,
businesses and farms.
