AARONG means “village fair”. It is the most popular lifestyle retail chain in
Bangladesh. This brand was established in 1978 by an organization which is
BRAC. AARONG operates production units in rural and semi-urban areas
as a part of its social enterprise model provides the market linkage through
its retail outlets. Today, AARONG has 17 retail stores across Bangladesh and
over 100 fashion and lifestyle product lines.
Products
Aarong is a leading fashion house in Bangladesh. Though it was born in need of
helping the disadvantaged, poor silk farmers of Manikganj, soon enough Aarong
started to grow and spread throughout the whole country, from one single shop to
the biggest retail chains of Bangladesh.
Besides, since 1984 this organization has export market. With growth, the product
lines of Aarong have also grown up. At present Aarong have more than 100
product lines. The products of Aarong are as follows:

ACHIEVEMENT
In 10 December 2012 Aarong has been awarded the
prestigious 2012 UNESCO Award of Excellence for
Handicrafts in South-East Asia and Asia for Jamdani stole,
silk Nakshi Kantha table runner and bridal jewelry box.

The Asian Marketing Federation (AMF) has awarded


Aarong with the “Marketing 3.0” award on September 23,
2016 after it competed against companies from 19 member
countries. The award was received by Md Abdur Rouf,
chief operating officer, Aarong, during AMF’s annual
award ceremony in Seoul, South Korea.
