• Communication is too efficient and easy and society has been directly affected by that
• ‘Slaves to the media’, we rely on media and get unrealistic expectations for ourselves from it
• Image is everything in the current state, more media outlets are telling the public that you need
to look BETTER
Postmodernism
• Post modernists see society as characterised by diversity, choice and freedom
• Buying the things you think you are
• Taking over the new generation, youth are watching huge amounts of TV
• 80% of children have their own TV in their bedroom
• People are losing sleep over media, watching TV/Streaming on devices till late.
• Postmodernism is out of date, its starting to become a joke.
• Media has blurred the reality of what's real and what isn't
• Views are living virtual lives instead of living in reality
Examples of Postmodernism

• Teenagers spend an average of 6.5 hours a day looking at screens


• Teenagers spend 9 hours consuming media a day
• Some 13 year olds check social media 100 times a day
• Phones are disrupting teenagers sleeping patterns as the light disrupts your minds ability
to signal the body to sleep
