Over the centuries the traditional way to keep
accounts was to use calculators and pen and a set of paper
books, which worked fine for the business at that time. But in
today’s changing world, computerization is widely used and
there seems no need to have to take the manual way. The

Research Methodology
Research Design
A descriptive type of research will be conducting in
the study to arrive at the conclusions and
recommendations. The researcher will present the gathered
data and necessary information in connection with the
Current Status of Accounting Records and system, a basis
for determining the need for computerization system of
Leon Guinto Memorial College Inc. in Atimonan, Quezon.
Data is to be gathered through a personal interview and a
structured questionnaire as a guide. The phases of these
questionnaires will focus on the effects of its financial
reporting requirements, possible changes in the present
accounting system and the advantages and disadvantages of
computerization for the Accounting System.
Population of the Study
The researcher will gather
information from the employees which
had significant influence to the business
operation. Specifically, a total of ten
respondents from Leon Guinto Memorial
College will make up the sample. The
researcher will personally select a sample
size for the dissemination of survey
questionnaires.
Research Instrument
The researcher will utilize an interview
with the structured questionnaire from the
recent research study of D. Camba (2014) to
gather information. The researcher will also
make use of textbooks, reference books and
unpublished materials. The researcher will also
make use of Internet and will personally
observed the current system as an student
assistant to furnish all necessary information in
order for her to make an accurate analysis of a
complete and accurate data.
Research Procedure
A request letter was brought to Mrs.
Imelda Sison asking permission to be the
subject of the study and their availability
for a personal interview. Upon approval of
the request, the researcher will conduct
the interview guided by questions to
evaluate the current status of Accounting
Records and System of Leon Guinto
Memorial College Inc.
Research Locale
The study will be conducted in
Leon Guinto Memorial College Inc.
Statistical treatment
The data to be collected in this
study will be organized and classified
based on the research design and the
problems formulated. The data will
be coded, tallied and tabulated to
facilitate the presentation and
interpretation of the results using
the following:
1. Percentage
The percentage will be used to determine the
quantitative relation to the whole response. The process
of gathering the percentage was dividing the frequency
(sum of responses) by the total number of responses. To
compute for the percentage (P)
P = (f/n)*100
Where:
P = percentage
f = frequency
n = total number of respondents
2. Weighted Mean
Weighted mean will be used to measure
the general response of the survey samples,
whether they agree to a given statement or not.
The formula in computing weighted mean is as
follows:
Where:
f –weight given to each response
x –number of responses
xt – total number of responses
3. Likert scale
The likert scale is a pre-arranged
system, one dimensional scale from
which the interviewee will be choosing
one option that reflects to their opinion.
The scoring system for each item must be
such that a high score consistently
reflected a favorable response and a low
score consistently reflected an
unfavorable response. There are
classically five options to be offered.
The equivalent scale in the questionnaire
was presented below:
WEIGHTED MEAN SCALE VERBAL INTERPRETATION

4.01 – 5.00 5 Strongly Agree

3.01 – 4.00 4 Agree

2.01 – 3.00 3 Undecided

1.01 – 2.00 2 Disagree

0.00 – 1.00 1 Strongly Disagree
