PRINCIPLES OF ANSWERED PRAYER
Basic truths or guidelines that lay a proper
foundation in order that a person may pray and
receive answers to prayer.
 Foundation is very important e.g. the foundation
of a building determines how far and how well it
can stand.
 You need to know the "ABC" of prayer Ps. 11:3
 Knowing what to do is vital to getting the desired
result Isa. 65:24.
WHAT IS PRAYER?
Prayer is communicating with God. Matt. 7:7,
Jer. 29:11-12; 33:3
It is talking to God and hearing from Him.
It is asking and receiving .
Not a monologue, not complaining and telling
Him our problems. Matt. 6:32 (God knows)
It is asking God to intervene in a situation on the
basis of His word and our relationship with Him.
Prayer is a key to unlock the doors of fulfilment
Prayer is not begging God to do things for us.
It facilitates access to what God has already
promised us in Christ Jesus.
Prayer cannot change God but it changes
situations Heb. 13:8, Mal. 3:6
REMEMBER
Your emotions will not move God against His
word.
Some have never prayed - for prayer is asking and
receiving an answer Matt. 7:7-8, 1 Jn. 5:14
1.Daniel prayed and received an answer
2.The Apostles prayed - Acts 4:29 -Vs. 31 answer
Acts 4:30 = Acts 5:12 answer
 If you pray aright 100 times a day, you will receive
100 answers a day.
Prayer is the cornerstone of Christianity Jn.
16:24
HOW TO PRAY
The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray –
Lk11:1
Except we know God's protocol for prayer,
certainly we will not receive anything from Him.
 All you need for life and godliness is available but
you must know how to draw from your heavenly
account. Thus knowing how to pray becomes an
important issue. For God is no respecter of
person.
THE MODEL PRAYER MATT. 6:9

of God in His fatherly role.

cares.
Knowing you are approaching a loving and
caring father, you come with boldness.
2. Hallowed be thy name
Reverence, hold in awe, worship, praise Him. Ps.
100:4 (call Him by His names)
For your prayer to be answered, you must be a
thanks-giver and a praiser.
 Praise is essentially a matter of the heart not
mouth. Praise His name, give praise for who He is.
 Praising God is not dependent on what He has
done. Also thanking God for what He is.
