Abstract:

This project includes how the compressed air is produced by vehicle

suspension. We know pneumatic energy is readily available and low-
cost energy. Now-a-days non-conventional energy system is very
essential to the world due to extinguishment of fossil-fuels. So here
we are focusing on pneumatic type of energy for this project. In this
project compressed air can be produced with the help of vehicle
suspension. Then this compressed air is used for several purposes.
Compressed air production using vehicle suspension does not required
any fuel for its working. So, in this project we are making a type of
device that is used for producing compressed air for different purposes
by using vehicle suspension. Compressed air may be used for running
vehicle and air conditioning purposes. Here we start with an
introduction to pneumatics in various applications and briefly explains
a few devices capable of utilizing compressed air effectively.
INTRODUCTION

• Man has needed and used energy at an increasing rate for his sustenance and well
being ever since he came on the earth a few million years ago. Primitive man
required energy primarily in the form of food.

• He derived this by eating plants or animals, which he hunted. Subsequently he

discovered fire and his energy needs increased as he started.

• With further demand for energy, man began to use the wind for sailing ships and
for driving windmills, and the force of falling water to turn water wheels.

• Till this time, it would not be wrong to say that the sun was supplying all the
energy needs of man either directly or indirectly and that man was using only
renewable sources of energy
COMPONENTS AND DESCRIPTION:

Frame Arrangement
This is made up of mild steel. The model frame is made up of mild steel
pipe material. These steel pipes are welded to form a frame structure.

NON-RETURN VALVE
This valve is used to speed up the piston movement and also it acts as an one –
way restriction valve which means that the air can passthrough only one way and it can't
return back. By using this valve the time consumption is reduced because of the faster
movement of the piston.

AIR COLLECTING TANK

The compressed air from the compressor is collected through non return valve by
a pipeline system and stored
Quick exhaust valve

Any excess air in the air tank is flowed out automatically through the quick
exhaust valve.
Hose & connectors:

Hoses used in this pneumatic system are made up of polyurethane. These hoses can with
stand at a maximum pressure level of 10x105N/m2. In our system there are two types of
connectors used. One is the Hose connector and the other is the reducer. Hose connectors
normally comprise an adopt hose nipple and cap nut.
These type of connectors are made up of brass or aluminum or hardened pneumatic steel.
Flow control valve:

This valve acts as an one – way restriction valve which means that the air can pass
through only one way and it can't return back. A screw is provided to control the flow of air.

Pneumatic Cylinder:

The cylinder is a Single acting cylinder one, which means that the air pressure operates
forward and spring returns backward . When the solenoid valve is operated by passing
current to it compressed air is released into the pneumatic cylinder and the piston is acted
forward to operate the brake lever
Working operation:

• The working model is a combination of frame arrangement, Non-

return valve, Air collecting tank, Quick exhaust valve, Pu
connectors reducer and house collar, flow control valve, pneumatic
cylinder .

• The complete diagram of compressed air production using vehicle

suspension is given above.

• When the vehicle moves on the uneven or irregular road surface the
foot pump is operated by springs connected to wheels.
• The foot pump connected to springs helps in reciprocating the
piston inside the foot pump cylinder.

• Thus the compressed air is produced from the foot pump outlet with
a definite pressure, which is collected into the air tank.

• This compressed air can be transferred to various devices for

respective usages
• such as refrigerators , air brakes, air – conditioners, cleaning
purposes.

Vehicles, derived from the Latin word,

vehiculum, are non-living means of transport. Vehicles may be
propelled or pulled by animals, for instance, a chariot, a
stagecoach. However, animals on their own, though used as a
means of transport, are not called vehicles, but rather beasts of burde
or draft animals. This distinction includes humans carrying another
human, for example a child or a disabled person. A rickshaw is a
vehicle that may carry a human and be powered by a human, but it is
the mechanical form or cart that is powered by the human that is
labelled as the vehicle. For some human-powered vehicles the human
providing the power is labelled as a driver.
Are classified broadly by what is used to apply steering
and drive forces against the ground: wheeled, tracked,
railed, or skied. While Vehicle running on the road
ways, foot pump produces air in vehicle suspension.
Generated air is stored in a tank. Here we are fabricating the
model for four wheeler vehicles without using any fuel
input, and it is known as pneumatic vehicle. The
arrangement of the setup is using the pneumatic rotor (or)
gun which is coupled with the worm shaft. The spur gear is
connected with the rear wheel shaft which is engaged in the
worm shaft. The front wheel drive is to make as the
mechanism of rack and pinion which is coupled with
the steering shaft.
Brose S.H., Satpute A.G:

Explained about air conditioning system by

using vehicle suspension. When vehicle is run on bumpy road or uneven
road then suspension spring move continuously up and down. The
pneumatic cylinder is installed below this spring arrangement. This
pushing power is supplied to pneumatic piston and cylinder
arrangement which compresses the air. This compressed air is
supplied to air tank through non return valve. By the placement of
non return valve stops the back flow of pressurized air into cylinder
again. That high pressurized compressed air is stored in air tank. When we
want to turn on A.C. system the pressurized compressed air is
supplied to parallel flow heat exchanger through pipe by using knob.
