▪ Major Basic Engineering completed and finalisation by Jan 18.

▪ Boundry wall North side extension work started on 06.10.17 with the help of
Police protection but again came to an halt due to local people resistence.
▪ Soil Investigation and Contur survey work awarded on 15.12.2017.
▪ Draft NIT and MR for Bauxite Handling, Evaporation & Calcination reviewed
expected to be floated in Jan 18.

Rectification Work of Bauxite Stock Pile – 06

▪ Initial static pile load test conducted on 06.11.2017


▪ Piling Work started from 28.11.2017.
▪ Total 20 nos out of 163 nos Pilies has been completed as on date.
▪ Pile cap and rail foundation work scheduled to start from 20.01.2017.
▪ The Stock Pile shall be handed over for Normal Operation in June 2018.

Reclaimar and Associated Conveyors Package by M/s FLSmidth

 Total Order Value: Rs. 59,69,63,859.00


 Date of Commissioning of Reclaimer and Conveyor 1104 & 1106: 19th Oct’12.
 Date of Commissioning of Conveyor 1105 & 1107: 3rd May’13
 Stock Pile - 6 defect identified on: 12th June 2013.
 After lot of discussions with M/s FLS and studies by IIT Delhi and IIT Madras, it
was decided for ground improvement. Accordingly, it was decided to go for PVD
(Prefabricated Vertical Drains) method.
 Due to reluctance from M/s FLSmidth it was decided to go ahead for rectification
at risk and cost of M/s FLS. Accordingly, job was awarded to M/s Trinath
Engineers for “Partial Ground Improvement” and Low Strain Integrity & Ultrasonic
Pulse Velocity testing of Piles/ Beams by M/s S Ghosh & Associates on
20.09.2014.

During erection it was noticed that there is a discontinuity in the piles and by
exposing the piles up to 5 to 6 meters depth, it was noticed that some piles are
like mushrooms.
 Accordingly, mater was taken up with M/s FLS and they agreed to take up the
rectification work in the moth September 2015.
 Then they started working after detail testing and accordingly, they mobilized
the pilling agency in month of December 2016.
 During Piling, it is observed that there is a clay material from 22 meters to 28
meters depth. Accordingly, further tests have been carried out i.e. SPT (Standard
Penetration Test) and completed in August 2017.
 On initial pile load test completion of 22 meters pile on 06.11.2017, they
mobilized a piling agency on 28.11.2017 and piling job is under progress.
 Rectification works are expected to be completed by June 2018.
