There are many ways to commission an eNodeB, such as USB, U2000, and MML.
However, the MML is a basic way to commission an eNodeB. After obtaining the steps
for commissioning an eNodeB using MML commands, you will have a whole
commissioning logical map that helps you troubleshoot and analyze eNodeB problems.
From this slide, you will learn the steps for commissioning an eNodeB and the MML
commands used for commissioning an eNodeB.
Use this command to add a BBU subrack or an RFU subrack. This command is not
applicable to other types of subracks. Those subracks are added automatically while
the devices are added
Board UMPT : Check existing Board UMPT, if the existing still use WMPT need change to
UMPT
If the baseband processing board is an LBBP, the working mode must be FDD, TDD, TDD_ENHANCE,
TDD_8T8R, TDD_TL, or FDD_ATG.
Note:
1. Before adding the RRU chain/ring, ensure that the CPRI port on the baseband processing board of the RRU
chain/ring is not used by any other RRU chain/ring.
2. The backup mode of a ring can be hot backup only when the head and tail of the ring are different interface
boards.
3. When an RRU chain/ring is added, the number of breakpoints is zero by default. Before adding an RRU or RFU,
breakpoints must be configured on the chain/ring. For details, see the MOD RRUCHAIN command.
4. CPRI-related alarms will be generated when the configured CPRI line rate differs from the current rate. If the
whole ring/chain supports the configured CPRI line rate, the line rate will be synchronized in 2 minutes and the
CPRI-related alarms will be cleared. After setting the CPRI line rate, you can run the DSP CPRIPORT command to
check the setting result. If the setting fails or the setting result is not the expected rate, you need to reset the
CPRI line rate after checking the optical modules, baseband processing boards, and RRU capability.
5. In the LampSite network, the chain between the pRRU and RHUB is configured by running the ADD RRUCHAIN
command. The chain between the RHUB and BBU is not used.
Use this command to set the time zone and the daylight saving time (DST) information
about the NE
Note:
PA/Port Attribute: Indicates whether an Ethernet port is an electrical port or optical port.
When the system starts, the system binds an Ethernet port to an optical port preferentially
if the default value of the port attribute is AUTO.
Configurations of Port Attribute, Maximum Transmission Unit, Speed, and Duplex must be
negotiated with the customer.
Note:
The Transmission Link Fault Recover Switch parameter indicates whether to enable the function
of rectifying faults on a transmission link. If this parameter is set to ENABLE, the eNodeB attempts
to rectify a fault by automatic reset when the OMCH of the eNodeB is disconnected and the service
interruption duration reaches 45 minutes. If the fault fails to be rectified, the eNodeB attempts to
rectify the fault again in the same way when the service interruption duration reaches 480 minutes.
If the fault fails to be rectified after the two resets, the eNodeB stops performing automatic reset.
The service interruption duration at which the eNodeB automatically resets has fixed values (45
minutes and 480 minutes) and cannot be configured.
You can set this parameter to DISABLE if the BBU software version is fixed to prevent eNodeB reset
due to transmission link interruption.
The IP addresses, including the control plane IP address, user plane IP address and OM
IP address, must be negotiated with the customer.
Before adding an S1 object, ensure that the operator that owns the S1 object, the
control-plane end point group, and the user-plane end point group have been added
Before adding an X2 object, ensure that the operator that owns the X2 object, the control-plane end point
group, and the user-plane end point group have been added.
The X2 self-setup is supported for a CnOperator MO only after the CpEpGroupId parameter under the X2 MO
for this CnOperator MO is added.
Note: Local IP Indicates the local IP address of a remote maintenance channel. Peer IP indicates
the IP address of the U2000.
An eNodeB can be configured with a maximum of two remote maintenance channels, which are
the active and standby remote maintenance channels.
Use this command to add a set of uplink, downlink, or uplink and downlink baseband
equipment. Baseband processing units are added with the baseband equipment
Note: eNodeB ID and Cell ID are parameters for the peer eNodeB.
Note: eNodeB ID, Cell ID, and Physical Cell ID are parameters for the peer
eNodeB.
Note: Downlink EARFCN indicates the DL EARFCN of the peer eNodeB. It must be
different from the DL EARFCN of the local eNodeB.
Note: eNodeB ID and Cell ID are parameters for the peer eNodeB.
