Idaho Core Teacher Standards

There is 10 standards in the Idaho Core Teaching Standards

These are skills that all successful teachers are required to know and
understand
They must also be able to apply these to their teaching styles
Before receiving your teaching certificate you must be able to show
that you know all these standards.
They standards came from the Interstate New Teacher Assessment
and Support Consortium model.
Idaho Core Teacher Standard One
Learner Development
The teacher understands
children's learning happens at
different rates and in different
ways. The teacher incorporates
different teaching tools so all
the different learners can
understand.
How To Apply it!
The teacher will apply their
knowledge of how learning
happens to their lessons
The teacher will use ways
theyve learned to help
students make a connection
The teacher will make plans
that are appropriate for her
class and the level they are at
Idaho Core Teacher Standard Two
Learning Differences
The teacher includes her
knowledge of different
students, cultures and the
community to bring the best
education for the class to
succeed.
How To Apply it!
The teacher will build her lessons
off of students prior knowledge
The teacher will bring it and
encourage different points of
views and perspectives
The teacher will work with
students of a different language
background to keep them from
missing learning due to a langage
miscommunication

Learning Environments
The teacher knows to work
with others(coworkers,
parents, students, ect.) to
create apostive learning
enviorment.
How To Apply it!
The teacher will work with the
students to encourage them to
work on activites.
They teacher will be in
communication with parents.
The teacher will set up her
classroom and activites so
students can learn independtly

Content Knowledge
The teacher understands
concepts, knowns the proper
wording for the subject and
how to teach it.
How To Apply it!
The teacher will be able to
present a concept in multiple
ways.
The teacher will enage
students to show their learning
The teacher will be able to
answer the question why? To
the concept thats being
taught.

Application of Content
The teacher knows why the
content is important and how it
applies to other things, and
how to think critically about it.
How To Apply it!
The teacher will enagage
students to look deeper into
the content.
The teacher will demonstrate
how to apply the knowledge to
something real.
The teacher will show the
concept in different ways using
many tools.

Assessment
The teacher knows the
differences betweens
formative and summative
assessments, how to look at
data and make patterns and
understand it.
How To Apply it!
The teacher will give a variety
of assesments.
The teacher will provide
constructive feedback to the
learner
The teacher will properly
prepare students for the exam
and how to do well on it.

Planning for Instruction
The teacher understands the
content and how it is
presented, they will know their
students and make proper
adjustments.
How To Apply it!
The teacher will plan ahead to
making any adjustments to the
lesson for certain students.
The assignments will work on
meeting goals and standards
for the students
The teacher will have a plan for
meeting any accomadation
goals for students

Instructional Strategies
The teacher understands the
varies ways of learning and will
vary her ways of teaching to fit
those multiple ways.
How To Apply it!
The teacher will know the way
each of her students learn
The teacher will include
multiple way of teaching
including technology.

students.

Professional Learning and Ethical
Practice
The teacher known how to self
assess to see if he/she is
following ethical teaching and
they know the laws for
students and teachers
responsibility.
How To Apply it!
The teacher continues
education with extra clsses to
go to.
The teacher maintains
professional with the students.
The teacher teaches things
with ethical laws in mind.

Leadership and Collaboration
The teacher understands they
are in charge of the students
learning, and works with
others, and extra classes to
have all the information.
How To Apply it!
The teacher works within the
school to learn more and work
with other teachers.
The teacher uses preofessional
development opportunites to
learn and work with others.
The teacher collaborates with
other teachers.
Why are these important?
These are important to know
and understand because they
are the basis of your teaching
career. This are guidelines you
will need to follow to be
successful. This is also the
basline of how your principle
or administrator will grade your
teaching.

Method

The Frameworks for Teaching

Evaluation Method is being
utilized in addition to the
Idaho Core Standards to help
with evaluating students. This
was was developed by
Charlotte Danielson.
 What is it?
The framework for teaching is researched based instruction
