Strand:
Strand is the key learning area of a leaning program. The division into strand is a convenient
way of categorizing outcomes.
Competency:
Competency is basically the description of the strand in broader aspect. It outlines what
students should know and be able to do in a particular strand.
Benchmark:
Benchmarks are the statements that identify the outcomes of students what they are
expected to know, be able to do and value at the end of a particular grade level or grade-
cluster.
Concept:
Concept is related to an idea or principle that is connected with something.
Student's Learning Outcomes:
Students learning outcomes are the learning statements, specifically describing what
students are supposed to learn and able to do at each grade level in order to achieve the
specified benchmarks for each grade level or grade-cluster. Students learning outcomes are
organized in three categories of knowledge, skills and attitudes.
