Introduction
World Malaria Report 2015 reported that there were 212 million
new cases worldwide.
In Indonesia, malaria morbidity during the years 2005-2015 are
likely to decline from 4.1 per 1,000 population at risk in 2005 to
0.85 per 1,000 population at risk in 2015.
Areas that are found highest cases of malaria in North
Sumatra: Kabupaten Madina, Batubara, and Asahan.
The low utilization of people in relation to health services is a
factor in high incidence of malaria.
Methods
Methods

This study is an analytical study using case control study .

This study was located at Puskesmas Labuhan Ruku Kabupaten Batu B
ara, which was held in March 2017.
The population of this study is resident in Puskesmas Labuhan Ruku.
The determination of the samples based on the variable puddle with
odds ratio OR = 3.0 and P 1 = 0.72 was taken from previous studies (Miro
ntoneng, 2014).
Methods

Based on the sample size calculation of the minimum required sample si

ze is 73 cases and 73 controls so that the number of samples required as
many as 146 people.
The sampling technique used is consecutive sampling. The data collectio
n method is through primary data and secondary data.
Analysis of the data used in this study using univariate and bivariate anal
ysis. The data obtained are then processed using a Chi-square test with a
95% confidence level. Logistic regression analysis is used to see the most
dominant factor associated with the incidence of malaria

Based on the table the habit of using insect repel

of the regression equation obtained the degree o

of using insect repellent and a habit of going out
at night by 91.5%.
