Baskervilles
Chapter one: A new case
for Sherlock Holmes.
A man called Dr
Mortimer comes to see
Sherlock Holmes the
famous London
detective.
1)
Sherlock Holmes: - Dr. Mortimer you know my friend Dr.
Watson, dont you? Now, how can we help you?
Mortimer: - Well Do you know about the curse of the
Baskerville family?
Watson: - Sit down by the fire and tell us about it.

Mortimer: - Sir Hugo Baskerville was an evil man. In 1643,
he kidnapped a neighbours daughter and took her to
Baskerville Hall.

Mortimer: - The girl managed to scape, but Sir Hugo and
his friends chased her across the moor.

Mortimer: - The girl died of fear. Suddenly they saw a huge
black hound with eyes of fire. It killed Sir Hugo. He was the first
Baskerville to die that way but not the last.

Mortimer: - In June, Sir Charles Baskerville died. The
hound killed him!

Watson: - What a frighterning story!
Sherlock Holmes: - Its interesting, but its only and old
legend. What do you want me to do?

Mortimer: - I want you to protect Sir Henry Baskerville. Sir
Charles was a very rich man. Now his nephew, Sir Henry, will
inherit all his money and property

Mortimer: - Sir Henry is the last of the Baskerville. I dont
want him to die, too.
Sherlock Holmes: - Ill do what I can to help him. Bring him
to see me tomorrow morning.
Chapter two: Strange
happenings.
Dr. Mortimer
brings Sir Henry
Baskerville to
meet Sherlock
Holmes and Dr
Watson.

Mortimer: - Sir Henrry arrived yesterday. He
has lived in he Canada since he was a boy.
Sherlock Holmes: - Pleased to meet you, Sir
Henry .
Sir Henry: - Pleased to meet you, Mr Holmes!

Watson: - Is it good to be back in England, Sir
Henry?
Sir Henry: - Well, yes But this morning I
received a letter. Warning me to stay away from
Baskerville Hall.

YOUR LIFE is IN

Sherlock Holmes: - May I see the letter, please?

Sherlock Holmes: - Hmm I can smell perfume.a woman
sent this letter-but how did she know where Sir Henry is
staying?

Sherlock Holmes: - Have any other stranger things
happened since you arrived, Sir Henry?
Sir Henrry: - Yes - sombody took one of my boots from
my hotel room this morning!

Mortimer: - One of your boots?! That isnt important, is
it?
Sherlock Holmes: - I dont know. Perhaps someone is
following you. Now, I want you to retum to your hotel until this
evening.

Watson: - There isnt anyone following them
Sherlock Holmes: - Ah, but there is, Watson - the man in
that cab! I cant see his face, though.

Stapleton: - Driver! Waterloo staion quickly!
Sherlock Holmes: - Oh, no! Hes seen us!
Never mind Ive got an idea

Sherlock Holmes: - Watson, you must go to
Baskerville Hall with Sir Henry. Write me a report
every day.
Watson: - All right, Holmes but what are
you going to do?
Sherlock Homes: - Please, Watson no,
questions. Just do as I ask.
Chapter three: Danger
on Dartmoor.
Dr. Mortimer and
Dr. Watson travel to
Dartmoon with Sir
Henry Baskerville
Hall is not far from
the station.

Watson: - Sergeant, why are there so many policeman
here?
Sergeant: - A murderer called Seldon has escaped
from Dartmoor Prison, sir. Dont worry, though well catch
him!

Mortimer: - These are the Barrymores, your uncles
servants.
Servantes: - Welcome to Baskerville Hall, Sir Henry.

doing?
Was he the
man in the
cab?

Watson: -

Watson: - I think Ill walk to the village and


post my report to Holmes, Sir Henry. Please dont
leave the house alone it may not be safe.

Stapleton: - Good morning. Youre Dr.
Watson, arent you? Im Jack Stapleton. Thats
my house and theres my wife Beryl.
Watson: Pleased to meet you. Would you like
to join me for a walk?

Watson: Shall we go this way?
Stapleton: Oh, no! Thats the Grimpen Mire.
Theres quicksand everywhere! I know safe way
through, but for a stranger like you its very
dangerous.

Watson: - Whats that awful noise?

Stapleton: - People say its the Baskerville

Beryl: - Sir Henry, you must leave here at once!
You are in terrible danger!
Watson: - Im not Sir Henry, Im his friend. Are you
Beryl Stapleton?
Chapter four: The
midnight watcher.
Watson has been
at Baskerville Hall
for a week. He
writes a daily
report to send to
Sherlock Holmes.

Watson: - Who are you signalling to, Barrymore?

Servant: - Oh, its my faut, sir! Seldon,the prisoner who
escaped hes my brother, sir. We signal to tell him were
bringing food. I love him!

Watson: - Look there he is!
Sir Henry: - Poor Mrs Berrymore but
we must catch Seldon. Hes dangerous to
society.

Sir Henry: - Aaah!
Watson: - Are you all right?

Sir Henry: - Hes escaped, Doctor.
Well never find him now.
Watson: - Shh! Someones whatching
us.

Watson: - It isnt Seldon, and it isnt a policeman. Im
going to find out who it is.
Sir Henry: - Be careful, Watson!

Watson: -

Watson: -

Sherlock Holmes: - Good morning, Dr. Watson. Please


dont shoot me!
Chapter five: The hound
attacks.

Dr Watson is
about to shoot
when he hears a
familiar voice.
1)
Watson: - Holmes! How long have you been here?
Sherlock Homes: - Ever since you arrived, but I didnt want
anyone to know I was here. The post office gave me your
letters every day. I know who wants to kill Sir Henry

AA-OO-OUH!
WOO-OU-AHH!

Sherlock Holmes: - Whats that?!


Watson: - The Baskerville hound! Hurry!

AAARGH
AA-OO-OUH!!

Watson and Sherlock: - Sir Henry! Oh, no!

Watson: - Hes dead, Im afraid but it isnt Sir
Henry, its Seldon. Hes wearing Sir Henrys old
clothes. Did Barrymore give them to him?

Sherlock Holmes: - The dog thought it was
chasing Sir Henry. Thats why someone stole Sir
Henrys boot in London, Watson for the dog to
smell!

Stapleton: - I heard shouting and came to help. Whats
happened, Mr Holmes? Is that Sir Henry?
Watson: - No, its Seldon. We must tell he police.

He knows
who I am!

Sherlock Holmes: -

Stapleton: - Why dont you and Dr. Watson come to
dinner tonight? And Sir Henry, of course.
Sherlock Holmes: - Thank tou, but Watson and I must
return to London at once. We will tell Sir Henry about your
kind invitation, though.

Watson: - Ill tell Mrs Barrymore about Seldon, her brother. The poor
woman will be very upset.
Sherlock Holmes: - Yes Watson, come and look at this!

Sherlock Holmes: - Elementary, my dear Watson! Stapleton is really a
Baskerville. He killed Sir Charles and we must stop him before he murders
Sir Henry, too!
Watson: - Without the hair, Hogo Baskerville is just like Stapleton! But
how?
CHAPTER SIX: AN
INVITATION TO MURDER.
Holmes and
Watson tell Sir
Henry about
Stapletons
invitation to
dinner.
1)
Sir Henry: - But I dont want to go to Stapletons house
alone!
Sherlock Holmes: - Dont worry, Dir Henry. If you do what
Ive told you, youll be perfectly safe, I promise. Now, I must
send for the police.
2)
Sherlock Holmes: - Id like to send a telegram to Inspector
Lestrade of Scotland Yard in London, please. Its urgent.

COME TO BASKERVILLE HALLS!


IMMEDIATELY + STOP + HOLMES.

Watson: - Well, Sir Henry has arrived. I hope we can keep
him safe!

Lestrade: - Is Stapleton really so dangerous?
Sherlock Holmes: - Yes, Lestrade! Now get down!
5)
Sherlock Holmes: - Go and take a look, Watson, then
come back and report.

Where is Beryl
Stapleton? I
cant see her
anywhere.

Watson: -

Watson: - and I Heard a strange noise from a shed
in the garden. Theres something in there

Sir Henry: - Thank you for dinner, Stapleton. I say, what
terrible fog!
Stapleton: - Yes dont get lost on the moor and end up in
Grimpen Mire!

Sherlock Holmes: - Oh, no! If this fog gets thicker, it will
ruin our plans. Are your guns ready, gentlemen?

AA-OO-OUH!
WOO-OU-AHH!

Sherlock Holmes: - Its the Baskerville hound! We have to


sabe Sir Henry!

Sherlock Holmes: - Watson, Lestrade SHOOT!!
CHAPTER SEVEN: THE CASE IS
CLOSED
A hound with
eyes of the
fire was
chasing Sir
Henry in the
thick fog.
1)
Watson: - Is Sir Henry alive?
Sherlock Holmes: - Yes we shot the hound just
in time. It was a real dog.
2)
Watson: - Look phosphorus! Stapleton painted
this dogs eyes to make iy look like the hound in the
legend.
3)
Sir Henry: - Thank you for saving my life!
Sherlock Holmes: - Quickly, back to the house!
We must catch Stapleton before he gets away.

Watson: - Theres semeone upstairs in the attic!

Sherlock Holmes: - Your perfume you sent the
warning letter to Sir Henry! Why did your husband tie
you up?
Beryl: - I wanted to stop him from killing Sir Henry.
He used the dog before, to Kill Sir Charles.

Watson: - But why?
Beryl: - Hes Roger Baskervilles son. With Sir
Henry dead, Baskerville. Hall would be his.

Watson: - Where is he now?
Beryl: - In Grimpen Mire. You wont catch him
tonight in this fog.
Lestrade: - Then well wait until morning.

Beryl: - Jack put these sticks here. They show the only
safe way through the mire.
9)
Lestrade: - There are no footprints in this mud, Holmes
and Im afraid of getting caught in the quicksand!
Sherlock Holmes: - Dont worry, Lestrade. If hes still
alive, well find him!

Lestrade: Look, Holmes! Stapletons sacrf, in the middle
of the quicksand!
11)
Sherlock Holmes: - Obviously he lost his way in the fog
and fell in.
Lestrade: - Well never find his body in there
12)
Sir Henry: - Thank you again, Mr Holmes, And you, too,
Dr Watson.
Watson: - Our pleasure, Sir Henry.
Sherlock Holmes: - Well, Watson the case is closed.
