INTRODUCTION:
Any sustainable energy source that comes
from natural environment
Energy generated by using wind solar
geothermal heat and biomass include farm and
animal waste is known as non-conventional
energy all these sources are renewable or
inexhaustible and do not cause environmental
pollution.
More over they do not require heavy
expenditure.
What is renewable energy
When its source cannot run out (like the sun) or can
easily be replaced (like wood, as we can plant trees to
use for energy)

When their sources are carbon neutral. This means they

do not produce Carbon compounds (such as other
greenhouse gases).

When they do not pollute the environment (air, land or

water)
WORLD INVESTMENT IN RENEWABLE ENERGY
Renewable energy resources are always
available to be tapped, and will not run out. This is
why some people call it Green Energy.

Renewable energies:-
Biomass
Wind
Hydro-power
Geothermal
Solar
Hydrogen
BIOMASS

Biomass fuels come from things that once lived:

wood products, dried vegetation, crop residues, aquatic
plants and even garbage. It is known as 'Natural Material'.
Plants used up a lot of the sun's energy to make their own
food. They stored the foods in the plants in the form of
chemical energy. As the plants died, the energy is trapped in
the residue. This trapped energy is usually released by
burning and can be converted into biomass energy.
BURNING :-
The residue can be burned in a bunker to produce great heat that can be used to turn
turbines to generate electricity.

METHANE :-
The residue may also be forced to decompose by the addition of some bacteria. As
decomposition goes on, methane gas is produces and can be captured by special machines. Methane can
be used to turn turbines too.

FERMENTATION :-
Crops and plants with high levels of sugar, such as sugarcane can be fermented with
the help of enzymes to produce fuels like ethanol. Ethanol is becoming a popular fuel type in
the automobile industry.
WIND ENERGY
What is Wind Power?
Wind is caused by huge convection currents in the Earth's atmosphere, driven by heat
energy from the Sun. This means as long as the sun shines, there will be wind.

How To Generate Electricity:-

The moving air (wind) has

huge amounts of kinetic energy, and this
can be transferred into electrical energy
using wind turbines. The wind turns the
blades, which spin a shaft, which
connects to a generator and makes
electricity. The electricity is sent through
transmission and distribution lines to a
substation, then on to homes, business
and schools.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION OF WIND ENERGY
The wind is free
Does not cause green house gases or
other pollutants.
Although wind turbines can be very tall,
they only take up a small plot of land.
Therefore, the land below can still be used
(example: for agriculture)
Wind farms are appealing to the
landscape.
Remote areas that have no other energy
source available can use wind turbines to
produce their own supply.
HYDRO POWER

Moving water has kinetic energy. This

can be transferred into useful energy in
different ways. Hydroelectric power
(HEP) schemes store water high up in dams.
The water has gravitational potential
energy which is released when it falls.
The force and high pressure in the water
turns a series of shafts in a generator. Spinning
shafts in the generator charges millions of coils
and magnets to create electricity, which is
regulated by a transformer. This is then
transported via cables to homes and factories.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROCTECTION OF HYDRO POWER

The storage water is used

to lives and water plants
The used water is used to
agriculture purpose
it is a renewable energy
The hydro power dont
pollute the environment.
SOLAR ENERGY
Solar power is energy from the sun. sun it's
a powerful source of energy. Without it, there will be
no life. Solar energy is considered as a serious source
of energy for many years because of the vast
amounts of energy that is made freely available, if
harnessed by modern technology.

Solar cells
Solar cells are devices that convert light
energy directly into electrical energy. solar cells are
used to power satellites industrial and domestic
propose.

Solar panels
Solar panels are different to solar cells.
Solar panels do not generate electricity directly.
Instead they heat up water directly.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION OF SOLAR ENERGY

It is Renewable energy
Produces no pollution
It is free energy
If the area is sunny, solar energy can be
used in remote areas where no other
energy source is available
maintenance cost Low
Although expensive in the beginning, you
will save a lot money in the long-term
GEOTHERMAL

Geothermal energy is energy

derived from the heat of the earth. The
earths center is a distance of
approximately 4000 miles and is so hot
that it is molten.
Temperatures are understood to
be at least 5000 degrees centigrade.
Heat from the center of the earth
conducts outwards and heats up the
outer layers of rock called the mantle.
When this type of rock melts and
becomes molten it is called magma.
Magma can reach just below the earths
surface.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION OF GEOTHERMAL
Available all the year around.
Does not involve any combustion of fuel.
Independent of weather.
Clean resource- very little emissions or
overall environmental impact.
Economically sound alternative- the fuel is
free , rate/kwh likely to be competitive.
Overall geothermal energy is sustainable
resource.
HYDROGEN

Hydrogen is the simplest

element. An atom of hydrogen consists
of only one proton and one electron. It's
also the most plentiful element in the
universe.
Despite its simplicity and
abundance, hydrogen doesn't occur
naturally as a gas on the Earth - it's
always combined with other elements.
Water, for example, is a combination of
hydrogen and oxygen (H2O).
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION OF HYDROGEN

pure hydrogen produces almost no

pollution.
Liquid hydrogen is used as space
shuttle and other rockets into orbit.
It doesnt emit carbon content
Conclusion
Renewable energies is dont emit carbon content and green house
gases.
Renewable is compare to non-renewable energies control the
environmental pollution.
It is free from pollution , so these energy is safe the feature and not
affected the environment.
So the renewable energy is extension by the responsibility of human
being.
